Well tonight I was flying my F-27C Stryker in the park. I did not see but could hear a dog or 2 walking behind me somewhere. I was at the LVC so landing was mandatory. I said to my flying pal to watch out I was coming in for a landing (on road....everything else is snow and like 2-3 feet of it). So I am gliding it in at very slow speed at about to make contact with the ground and there he was....>A BIG black lab. Nothing was hurt....not the dog or plane but it was funny as hell. Plane hit him in back leg and he jumped about 5 feet high. The owner was the one apologizing to me and I was trying to appologize but he wouldn't have it. The dog thought it was a frisbee and when he realized it wasn't he went to turn away and bingo.....what a story to remember.....my first animal collision. Hopefully my last too! Kevin

Yep I hit our dog just last night. She was standing in the middle of our driveway. She just stood there staring at the plane as it glided in. She was so spellbound at my perfect approach the cub hit her right between the eyes. She yipped and ran away. Neither the dog nor the cub suffered any real injuries.

In my short time RC flying I have took aim at many of God's creatures. I always thought dogs were smarter than cows but in my experience I have found they will both stare at the plane until it is too late. Hell even kids have a hard time getting out of the way. Now birds on the other hand are very intelligent animals. You can try all day and never hit a bird.

well, ive never hit a dog, but......was flying the cub at my local park the other week, and it nosed over on landing - upside down. any way i was beaten to the cub buy a dog who gave it sniff,cocked his leg and pissed on it!!!!

Yeah, I was plaining on taking off in my laneway, so my dog was standing there like always not looking. I go to take off and my dog just stands there not even looking. Hit it in the back leg and he took off  |
