Just started doing a little research on this and it sounds like the Super Cub is the hot ticket! Looks like there is plenty to learn and the plane can be upgraded as you advance a bit.
Is there a good place to buy one or just look for one at my local hobby shop?
Thanks, hope to join the group and learn to fly! ;D

rger8. Welcome to the forum and the hobby, your going to love it. Try your local hobby shop first. If you find that they are a good bunch of people to deal with, then they are worth there weight in gold. Here's a guide on price, online. This comes with a free battery, not sure about shipping. www.hobbyzone.com/rc_planes_hobbyzone_super_cub.htmGood luck.

Welcome! Hope it's all you want it to be. A super cub is the way to find out too. It will allow you to learn at your own pace and be able to grow with you as well. Good Luck! Kevin

Good ole SC wont let ya down. I'm a wannabe fighter pilot usin the Sc for basic trainin. I've always wanted to fly rc. My first attempt back in the 70's was with those nasty, cantankerous fuel planes. DISASTER!! Spent lots of $ and almost as much time buildin and gettin ready only to crash and trash after 10 seconds on the maiden flight. Tried again with another plane a week later and a lone maple tree in a thirty acre field ran out and slapped my plane to the gound leaving it in a mangled heap. That was the end of it for me, bank account not to mention my temper couldn't handle anymore. Fast forward to August 2007. Just happened across a video of the SC on Youtube being flown by a little kid. Found out it was electric and my interest was piqued. Stopped by the LHS to check one out, and determined to give it another go. WOW !!! What a difference! No noise or oily stinkin mess or starting dificulties; just throttle up and away it went. Flew the battery to cut off without crashin and did a deadstick landin with only a couple bounces and lite flip at the end when she hit the tall grass.
Anyway I,ve got dozens of flights in since and I'm totally comfortable with the plane in winds < 10 MPH. Touch n goes, take off and landin, no problem. Even do some loops and inverted (careful here lose alt. in a hurry) flight.
ABSOLUTELY a marvelous fun to fly and FORGIVING plane. Get one, YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Workin on a Tiger Moth now and a Spitfire next (rem, I'm a wannabe fighter pilot), BUT my first love will always be my Sooper Dooper SUPER CUB !!! Happy Skies! ;D

I'm not a sales rep or gain financially, but they have the best price on the HZ SC that I've seen thus far, and they are a licensed dealer. Just under $120.00 to my door, however, shipping rates may vary. They do carry some parts. It does not come with an extra battery as sometimes offered by HobbyZone. Good hunting! P.S. Forgot to mention, this is for the electric Super Cub.
