What is the proper way to deploy the antenna. Loop it through the holes on the tail section or let it dangle behind?

I had mine threaded through the tail. Keeps it nice and tidy.

I used some tape and folowed the grove right up and over the vertical stabalizer. It has a little tail that hangs overthe rudder. It works great and now I don't step on it any more. Lost about 3" stepping on it when I went to pick it up.

flying should be in winds greater than 10mph

I second that motion. Now I put the antenna wire thru the pre-punched hole in the tail because I also stepped on it a couple of times. Same thing on my slo-v that I don't get to fly much.

I saw in another forum that a person wound up his antenna inside the fuselage and it worked fine. Does anyone have experience with this?

Lucky person. Antenna doubled back on itself loses range. Coiling it effectively makes it very short. If you want some good info on this read this article: www.rc-cam.com/ant_exp.htmI tape it along the top of the fuse and put it through the tail holes. fly

Hey mine came undone and got stuck in the prop... It cut it so can i just reconnect the two wires and it will be fine?

I was under the impression that winding was ok, as long as the wire does not cross over itself. They wind it neatly around a straw to acheive this. His test data showed a significant loss of range and signal in theory. Many have had success doing this, although I haven't tried it myself.

It cut it so can i just reconnect the two wires and it will be fine? How did you do that, let it flop around? Yes. A small amount missing won't compromise the signal much. You can even use different wire. Check out the many types of different wire used on various RX's sometime. Corona and Berg use really skinny wire. Length DOES make a difference. Read the link above! Whether a modification will affect you depends on your flying style and your field environment. I have flown with a GWS R4PII on my slow stick (19" stock antenna-500' range). Occasionally I'd get glitches, some days badly. Switched to a 4-ch Berg. Never had a glitch again. Just yesterday tried out a JR R700 with a short base loaded antenna-never have used one. You can be sure I did a GOOD range check. Seems fine, flew fine but I didn't push the range. We'll see. fly
