Hey!
I'm just getting into R/C aircraft, the Cub is my first (and at the moment) my only plane. I'm using it to teach myself how to fly RC. Flown it about 7 or 8 times now, no crashes yet (one ground-loop with minor wing-tip damage on landing). Last couple of flights I've been looping it, stalling it, and just having fun treating it pretty rough in the air. This plane flies so great. Tried spinning it in my last flight but I couldn't get it in. I love landing this thing, so stable. A little annoying doing crosswind correction with no ailerons, but other than that this plane is awsome.
Cheers,
Kal

Howdy!!!
Welcome to the forum and the hobby. It's addictive and the Super Cub is one outstanding and tough bird in the air and sometimes not ;D It is a bit tougher to fly in crosswind wth out ailerons, but i usually land into the wind anyway since I have 360 degrees of runway. If you want to spin the aircraft leave the ACT on and cover the bottom sensor.....it put my plane into a wicked unrecoverable spin. I wouldn't reccomend spinning though until you reinforce the wing....it will buckle under the stress of a hard spin.

G-loading in a spin is around 1.1 - 1.2 and airspeed is constant. A smooth recovery once the plane is out of the spin should also minimize wing loading. A spiral dive on the other hand.....

must have been a spiral dive then cause my wing snapped like a toothpick under the stress ;D

In a spin the plane should autorotate. I managed to get the SC to spin when I was flying it today, but only on my 5th attempt and I couldn't get it in again . It spins real nice though, very tight.
