Hi Folks Thought it was about time I some photos of all of my planes especially now the FW190 is finally in the air so they are all airworthy. My first plane was of course a SuperCub as a birthday prezzie from my lovely other half (now an r/c widow ;D) I then got the PZ FW190 secondhand on ebay which was reported as having a damaged wing (seemd only a bit of damage on the wingtips). Bought it to practise with a warbird before I got a new Spit but on my first few flights she just kept going down and to the left however I launched. I got frustrated and bought a new Spit anyway with which I have had great fun. In the meantime I picked up another good deal on ebay of a PZ Typhoon3d for £35 (approx $70) as it had a snapped off nose. This was easily cured with toothpicks and 5min epoxy and she flies well (all be it like a bucking bronco compared to my SC ;D). After all this decided to revisit the FW190. A check of the wing showed it starting to crack in the middle so I bought a new wing. Still the launches were rubbish but having flown the Spit a lot I realised the motor wasn't turning as fast. The previous owner had changed the connectors to larger Tamiya connectors and I think this had affected the rx/esc board and the power it delivered. A replacement rx later and she now flies like a beaut. Actually that is a fib as she flies tail heavy as I am missing the extra prop nut but I will soon solve that. So there we have it. Would like to try and find an ME109 and a WW1 biplane (maybe a Sopwith Camel or DR1) Happy flying all Malcolm

Hi Malcolm. Great hangar you have there. (Malcolmzone ;D) I assume you are flying these models on the stock TX's. Will you be moving over to 35mhz or 2.4 ?

Hi Paul Everything is stock except for the glue, toothpicks and sticky tape Not tempted to change radio gear as at the moment the standard PZ kit seems fine - I have had no failures other than the dodgy FW190 rx which I think was busted by previous owner. The Typhoon tx is rather nice - it is no Spektrum but it does the job. I suspect I will practice more before I upgrade any radio gear. What are the real advantages anyway? As for power am tempted to get lipos put the power maybe too much for my small flying field. I have heard the Spit would need wing strengthening but the Cub might be fun as it is indestructable. However the Typhoon may be the best bet for benefiting from lipos. Just need to get everything onto deans connectors. Also am nervous about lippos. Lots of info about the batteries available in the US - what about here in the UK?
