well i decided i wanted something faster then my cub and hellcat flat out. then i came across a video on youtube of the rcsuperpowers f-117 and decided to check it out. its a very easy to build kit made out of 6mm depron foam. all you need to build it is a knife, straightedge and foam safe ca or epoxy. trim the parts, a few need to be scored then folded then glue it all together. the only thing i am doing differnt is moving the servos out near the elevrons instead of using a control rod. gluing in the 3mm carbon fiber tube to strengthen the back and attach the tail. almost one side done. only took about 5 min to get that far. done gluing one side i finished up the other side last night too. all i need to do is mount all the electronics and the finish the tail and control surfaces. i am using a heads up rc 2409-12t motor, with the 7x5 prop i should have a prop speed of 57mph according to them. also 22 oz of thrust, and the plane should weight in between 16-19 oz. think it should move ok, not as fast as mrmugen's stryker but fast enough for now. ill post more pics later of it finished. rcpowers link for the f117 and other cool kitsmotor that i am usingyoutube video of the f117

When I saw the photos I was thinking "WTF is he making? An airplane mobile for a baby's crib? There's no way that things for real..."
Then I watched the videos and that is pretty awesome!
Keep us posted

well, it was a little windy today, gust in the 40mph rang so no madin yet. all i need to do is put control horns on it so its basically ready.
zeta, i know what you mean. when i first found it i was kind of leire, but after the videos and checking out the threads about it i was sold. it is really solid once its all glued together.

well finally got a chance to give her a toss, and it did get in the air. i need to turn my endpoints way way down because it was very twitchy and hard to fly. now here is the funny part, since i was in a hurry to fly i didnt notice that i had put the prop on backwards lol, so i wasn't actually getting hardly any thrust out of it which led to a stall and me crashing. it broke off the first 3 inches of the nose, but its all fiberglassed back together now and ready for another try with the prop on right this time. ill post pictures later.

Funny thing, I did the same thing to my yak54. I was so eager to fly I put the prop on backwards and crashed about 10 feet in front of me. Glad you got it back together ok.
