Hey, I was cleaning my Super Cub today, (landed in some mud) and I looked at the motor. At the front it has those two advil coloured cirlcular things. I think they are compasitors but not sure. Anyway, I looked and the one to the right (if loiking straight at it) is not connected to anything. The wire seems to be broken. Now I'm not sure if it's broken or if it is suppose to jsut hand there.
Any help?
Thanks in advance
<Eric>
Forgot to add. This is on stock motor.

If you notice any glitching on your radio it may be because that capacitor is loose. Can you identify where it was soldered onto, and resolder it?
I had this happen to a speed 400 motor on an rc car, had massive glitching until I resoldered it.
The capacitor filters radio interference.

Yeah, I think I found where it reattches. It seems that my mator cuts out though. And i'm wondering if it is maybe because of that.

It should not cause your motor to cut out. That is either a battery issue or LVC kicking in. When and how does your motor cut out? I mean does it do it only when far away? Or maybe after flying for several minutes? Any additional info will help.

Umm for the motor cut out. it;s after I fly for a while. then if you accelerate to top speed it will cut out.

That sounds to me like your LVC is kicking in. That is a feature to allow you to have enough power to land. Usually it will cut the motor for a few seconds. Once you return the throttle stick to zero it resets it and alows you to use it limited. Otherwise your pack would drain completely and leave you nothing for your servo's.

I am not saying it is coming loose. I am saying it is doing it's job. It is designed to cut your motor once your battery drops to a certain voltage.....someone help me on the voltage here. I simply forgot..

Oh, I see. So, there's nothing I can really do about the LVC then?

How long are you flying when the motor usually cuts out?

Well, it happens at the beginning too. Like if I put it full power right away it will cut off, but if you accelerate slowly it's fine. Also, it usually cuts out at the end of a flight.

Are your batteries cold before you fly? Might need to warm them up preflight? What charger are you using? Are they the stock 7 cell packs? Do you have a friend with a pack you can try?

Nope, I keep them inside at room temp before flying, I have done that before and doesn't help, the stock charger, Yes and No.

If you can fund it you might want to try buying another battery. Get a decent one from one of the links in the battery section. I am not sure who sells them as I do not use them. It sounds like a bum cell in your pack possibly. If you get a good quality pack and it performs flawlessly then you have your answer.
Also check your connectors first. They may be the cause of all this. I should have pointed that out first. Make sure they make good contact.
If possible upgrade them and the one on your charger to Deans Ultra plugs.

I have upgraded to Dean plugs. and I'm planning on getting a lipo battery soon. So yeah, if the lipo battery works fine then problem solved.
Thanks
