Hi gents
Ive seen some pics of the velcro method of fixing and transporting wings and struts but how do you fix the looped end of the strut (the bit that the screw passes through to secure it to the fuse) to the velcro?
Any help is appreciated!

:)HI FRAZER You place a strip of velcro on the fuse behind the battery box then wrap some round the struts where the screw goes in ( make sure you remember to use the hook bit on fuse then fuzzy bit on struts, or vise versa) or it wont stick When your wing is sat in place and bands are on you just hook em up but ,dont pull too tight i found it affects the flight if theres no flex in wing. also you can put a strip in middle bottom of wing for transporting, you can leave the struts on when driving to location or storing wing, just sticks down to wing and prevents snapping.

NO If you go to B&Q or halfords they do the velcro in a box (about 2mtr) it has a very strong adhesive on the back. when its on leave for 24 hr b4 flying. as you can see from pic i use it alot. the block behind the batt hatch is what my flycam velcro's on to.

Hello, Great site, great ideas! I just installed the velcro solution to the struts. One of the screws was not threading anymore and was basically stripped since it was brand new. The Gorilla glue had a difficult time adhering to the slick plastic struts so I brought out the hot glue gun. Worked great and on the test flights this evening the struts stayed in place even on many landings w/o wheels. Here are a few photos. I was velcro happy and have tons left of it. So far I'm using it for struts, camera mount, and skid plate for landings (no wheels on park grass). That's why all the other velcro is visible.

The best idea I've seen yet, so I did it myself. Wife found some industrial strength white velcro: Tried using the strong adhesive alone. One strut came loose after the last flight. Tried a different method of wrapping around the velcro and creating a full pad. If this doesn't work, I'll use the hot glue as suggested:

Hi All, I'm new to the Super Cub LP ( 1st flight today ) and it was fantastic!!! I only have the one stock battery and got 18 minutes of flight time. (Dx6i timer). I found this posting about the velcro and think it is a fantastic idea!! So I just finished doing the Mod!!! It looks like it will work fantastic. I cant wait to fly tomorrow!!

If this doesn't work, I'll use the hot glue as suggested. I use Velcro for various purposes in my SC and I have found hot-glue to be the easiest and most reliable way to mount it. It takes only until it's cooled completely to be fully secure and it bonds well to foam, LiPo battery skins, plastic - you name it.
