Anyone know if using those 3 holes in the bottom fo the fuse is any good. I know the surrounding foam would have to be reinforced, and think that it may throw off the center of gravity too much. But am wondering if anyone has tried it or knows if anyone else has...

The bottom of the rear of the fuselage is covered by a real thin piece of foam that has three holes in it. You can pretty much remove the little piece of foam... its just held on with double-sided tape. I've seen people pull it off, wedge a camera in there and put the foam back... with the lense sticking through the hole. It flew a little tail heavy.
I've also seen people just cover the holes up. I've learned through reading build threads and such that vent holes are just as important as intake-cooling holes. You need to provide airflow across your components...without vent holes you'd get backpressure and you wouldn't cool off your parts inside. So... thats why they're there.
As for what you're trying to do and why you're posting about them here, I'm with S.C.C. hehe What are you trying to use them for?

I'm using mine for a drop box. I saw another member on here did the same. He just made some balsa doors attached to a servo for a box. Works good.

SCC & sackohammers I`m thinking of attaching a rear brace for a set of skis to it. That piece of foam that`s taped in does look very flimsy but it`s good to know it can be used.

I wouldn't mount a landing gear to that foam without seriously beefing it up. Try pulling it out.. you'll see its held on with the equivalent of scotch tape.

And now, 19 months later I've figured out a use for that long triangular compartment. Mounted my receiver (AR6000) on the forward wall, just below where the control rods enter. This way I can easily take a quick glance at it after turning on the TX to make sure the bind is still good (also gets a rats nest of wires out of the compartment under the wing). Not that it hasn't been done before or other folks haven't put the compartment to better use, just that this is what I've done and it seems to be working out great.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of folks like that. For right now I'm anal retentive, like to see that solid light so I know the receiver is still bound to the radio. But there's still plenty of room. What do they call those tree seeds that flutter to the ground? (look like half a prop on a hub) Whirley gigs?

Manitoba maples also have those type of seeds.
