As I think of begining my build, I am interested in stiffening the existing wing with some CF rods inserted in wing. Also I have an idea of putting some sort of material below wing along the axis of the fusealge and apply similar pieces to the sides of the fuselage.
I am envisioning making some sort of an interlocking pieces to tie together the position of the wing and fuselage.
Does this make any sense?
Anyone see an issue with the parts being this tight together?

I dont think making a tighter fit between fuse and wing will be an advantage. It will not absorbe an impact as well as it does now.

One method to try is to cover the wing with Sig Koverall and bind it with Minwax Polycrylic - it will not add a lot of weight but the increase in strength is substantial.

I've stiffened my wing a bunch by using cf rods in wing by cutting channel just big enough for cf rod in bottom of wing and coating cf rod with gorilla glue lightly and wetting channel in wing and tightly pressing cf rod in. With latest clipped wing/no dihedral mod I set heavy box on wing and let dry for hours. If you watched the video of this plane in the video section you know this plane is really cookin and I didnt even use wing struts!! Some of those turns are pretty fast and I didnt see any significant wing flex. In short, use CF Rods.

The cheapest and quickest is to cover the whole wing in packing tape. It's amazing how stiff the wing becomes.
Before I built my plane I wrapped the wing in clear packing tape. I can clean it easily with windex and I have yet to damage a part, except for cowls and props.
Try it, you'll like it !

What size did or do you use to be able to do-away with the struts on my aileron wing. thanks Happy Flights & Soft Landings Sayers
