got me one of these - newest version - firmware version 53.18.. easy to crack with CronusKey-1.3 and CamcorderKit21.exe - stripped this thing down to the skivvies and is real light now - soldered wires onto the data/power tab with a small cable mounted in the window area so you can just plug in usb from outside plane. Going to power it with RX unused channel - as far as I know there is a voltage regulator in the cam. Camer is mounted inside pilots left hand side window looking out at the leading edge of wing with lens mounted flush with fuse. Going to start looking for a small mirror on an adjustable mount to allow it to look forward/back and down. Will post pictures soon...

Cool! Yes please do post pics. I have not created a suitable mount for mine yet. Where did you buy the camera and how much? I have not seen these on sale for a while from CVS.

my cvs had them $30.... also spent all night soldering very very small ribbon wire onto the switches on the cam and made and mounted a switch panel on the outside, came out pretty good although I was ready to smash the whole thing about 5 times when the wires kept popping off before I could hot glue them.

Hi furn. Would you be so kind and reduce your pics. 640x480 max. Great install on the CVS, very neat.

to get the best results keep the video as short as possiable and at 30 fps. this will give you the highest bitrate.
nice job on the mount, it looks really good.

Use 640x480 and 256med(rca default). Set your time to 8 minutes and you will get 6 min of high quality video.............
