I am wondering if I can charge 3 cell 2100mah 11.1V lipos with this charger ( it is for my BladeCX2 Heli). If so would I have to change the connector on the lipo or charger.  www3.telus.net/husky/eflitehargerandpack.jpgThanks Kenai1 |

Yes you can if the lipo's have eflite connectors on them. The problem is that charger says it's a balance charger and in fact they aren't. I always thought they were until I took all my cx2 battery's that have only been charged on that charger and found that all of them were very off. Not from one flight either. They were as far as .5v off and they are only 2cells! I was amazed. I went to the lhs and told him what they were doing and he said must be your chargers mine work fine. I looked over at the line of the chargers he had and 3 of those chargers had cx2 packs freshly charged on them. I asked him if I could check them against a real digital readout balancer and he said sure. So we looked at each cell and they were indeed way off like I thought. I asked a few friends to bring their packs to the fly in we had and I checked them all....they were all off. Not one guy had a balanced pack.
Just a FYI...but yes it will work.

Does that mean as an example I would have to change the red wires on the battery shown ( if it was a 3 cell) to a Deans connector and keep the white end the same as it fits my charger.
If this is the ture then are there any other brands of lipos that I could charge or just eflite.

You can put any style plug you want on the red/black wire. Heck if you wanted you could put any balance connector you wanted on too. Commonsenserc.com has a bunch of balance connector pig tails as well as adapters. I bought a bunch of different adapters from him so I can charge and balance on my thunder power chargers instead. I like the TP chargers best of any of them. They just came out with a smaller version of the 1010C and named it the 610C. It comes complete with eflite and tp balancer connectors.
I found several packs on ebay that charge with that charger.
