Hi all I have recently purchased a replacement battery for my super cub and decided to go for the following... 9.6V 1400mAh 2/3A NiMH battery, replaces PKZ1023 I currently have the stock dc charger plus a Tamiya charger for an RC car both of which im led to believe would be unsuitable for charging the above battery. Can someone then recommend a good charger that’s up to the job in hand? A link to the eBay advert is below for reference.. I got the exact same batteries....I first tried the parkzone mustang car charger which is supposed to charge up to 10 cell packs(@1.4amps) but I was only getting 5-6 mins out of the battery. In the end I got this charger which works good for me.... www.component-shop.co.uk/html/mw3168vd.html

Try charger at a smaller current setting to see if it helps. dave mc

The peak detection formula is different and you will probably overcharge your NIMH packs. Get a peak charger made for NIMH packs. I think the Duratrax Piranha Digital Peak charger is a great deal for the money - use it for both airplane and r/c car packs. www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=MLI recommend you charget those packs at no more than 1.5amps (1C charge rate).

if you charge at 1400-1500mah you will be fine, so turn the dial to about the middle and you will be good. it should take about an hour to charge the battery, give or take a few minuets depending on that the charge rate is set at.
if you need to charge in a hurry you could turn it all the way up and charge it in about 42 min, but i wouldn't do it all the time since it will heat up the battery and shorten its life.
