Hi everyone. I was wondering, what is a good foam-safe paint? I'm looking to custom painting my Cub. I'm going to be using an air brush. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

...no idea, my paint job with fusion was a disaster. the only thing i can recommend is do simple decals over white. Don't try and tape over paint, it'll rip right off every time

If you are going to use tape to mask off areas of the plane, here is a helpful tip I have found elsewhere. Forum: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=312614&page=46Tip: A tip for painting: When masking off lines, try using that Scotch brand removeable tape. It seals completely to stop the paint from leaking through but comes up without removing the paint. I first tried using regular masking tape (first sticking each piece to my pants a few times to remove some stick). It would work fine until I would get to a part where the paint was heavier; then it would start peeling and never stop. When you do put it down, make sure you have it firmly pressed down along the edge. Also, after time, of course, it will start to lift up, especially if you are masking a curved edge. Link to product image at the bottom of the page: solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/home_office/home/product_information/transparent_tapes/You can get it at any department store, office product store, Walmart, or Office Depot.

There is a lot of good info on this site for painting foam: www.rcgroups.com/painting-and-finishing-tips-497/Nice tip for sealing your work after your done. Use Minwax Polycrylic to create a clear coat finish. I found a small can of it at Michael's which is an Art Craft store in my area. I searched their Web site but it isn't listed; however, it is in their stores.

mike I tried a couple spray can paints and they ate my test foam right up. Like garvey76 said, use acryllic. Stopped by the local craft store (hack73, it was a Michaels) and they said the same about brushing acrylic on foam. Tried some from there, YES! Came out good and I`m happy.

I have used plast-kote brand paint on 3 of my cubs and no worries at al with melting the foam. It also sticks so much better tha proper foam paint. IMO
