Hi all,
I have had my cub for almost a month and repaired it more than I flown it...hahaha. I do enjoy both but am getting better at flying. What improved my flying was choosing the correct size field. I thought I could fly on a smaller field than a football size field, not. I found a high school with a nice paved track for doing take-offs & landings. This plane is so much fun! However, my girlfriend wants to kill me for spending all my time mod'ing or repairing my plane.

Just tell her that your thinking of her when your not in the air. And at least she knows what your other love is. My wife has learned that I could have far worse habits, and she know exactly where I am when I'm not home, or at work.
You do need to remember in order: 1. Family, includes girlfriend 2. Friends 3. Flying, #2 & 3 are great together, even better if you can get #1 involved with 2 & 3.
Need to get back to fixing mine after I put the kids to bed. Happy flying

Just tell her that your thinking of her when your not in the air. There is only one problem with that. The better he gets at flying the more time he'll be in the air and the less time he'll be thinking of his girl. Just put a tap recorder under her pillow that says "I want to laern to fly rc planes. I want to learn to fly rc planes"

LOL, or I could slip her some sleeping pills - problem solved...8)
Actually, she walks the track while I fly. Works out beautifully!

My first flight on a single size soccer field I clipped a metal goal post on final landing approch.....busted the wing clean in two. I used 5 min epoxy to glue it back together and clear packing tape for reinforcement on the crack and wing edges. 24 hrs later I was back in the air.

I had a funny incident this past Saturday. I was flying on a local High School's track and here comes a jogger to run on the track. I figured I could land when he is on the other side of the track. Anyway, he was banking around the first bend and I was making a sweep preparing to land when all of a sudden this HUGE bumblebee begins hovering in my face. For a second, I forgot about my bird and it headed overhead of the jogger (but really low - like 4' above him). In the middle of my dancing to get away from the beast, I looked past my waving hand and saw the jogger looking back at me. Than I realize my cub was heading in the direction of the trees on the hill above the track. I attempted to cut throttle and turn in the opposite direction but it landing in the lower part of the tree. Thank God!
Anyway, I thought about it while I was getting my plane down. How funny I must have looked to the jogger! He can see me dancing around waving my hands but probably couldn't see the bee. He probably thought I was mad at him for interrupting my flying. Needless to say, I walked over to the softball fields to finish flying...hahaha.
