Ok I am ready to paint up a bunch of planes. Now I have heard all kinds of different paints mentioned in the last year or so. I am wondering which seems to work best? Price is not a factor. I want to know what is best. I hate doing things 2x's when I plan time for it once. Thanks fella's, Kevin

Krylon Fusion works the best when using rattle can and is foam safe. They only have basic colors though. It sticks to plastic great and will not chip. If it is not foam and a high gloss is wanted I like flat paints because they do not run and dry quickly and then use testors super gloss coat on top of that. It drys perfectly clear and looks deep. PAINTED WITH KYRLON FUSION

So I can get the paint at walmart or a local hardware store then? I am not a painter by any means and my models reflect that. I hope to find new ground........lol.

I bought some Krylon Fusion paint for plastics and tested it on styrofoam and it began melting it. This wasn't the actual plane, it was styrofoam packing and it scared the he!! out of me. Is this the same paint that you are talking about? Maybe the problem was with the styrofoam that I tested it on. I painted the nose cone and the wheel covers and it looks great but I am scared to paint the foam.

I used Krylon Fusion to paint my SC. There were no ill effects to the foam at all. I was spraying ~6" away from the foam too, so obviously the propellant wont affect the foam either.
However, before you paint your plane yellow, be advised that Krylon yellow is much brighter than 'cub yellow.' I almost regret painting my plane(until its up in the ir and 500% easier to see)

^^^^ i painted mine the same color and i love it, i can see it alot future away especially at dusk. only thing i have found is that it chips off easily if you have a rough landing or hit something. nothing major just a little repainting.
