That is beautiful! Great job! I wish I had an eye for the arts or anything close. I have a buddy who does all the paint jobs that I want to look good. Maybe someday...but then again maybe not. Kevin

anyone tried the rockets yet? You don't have to admit it.....Just share stories of a friend or a guy you know or heard of trying it.

jt01, Where did you get the metal landing gear strut? did you make it yourself? It looks very nice and looks a lot stronger than the standard wire strut. Very nice paint-job too.

I haven't tried rockets but this guy thinks he needs them to get his ABX airborne www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkmW-dz3a_YThe landing gear is from Great Planes p.n. GPMQ1800. Works great with 2 3/4 wheels and 3/16 nylon bolts for axles. Needs a little trimming around the battery box but it cuts easy.

Super great plane! Are those the Parkzone J-3 Cub gear? If so, did you have trouble with prop clearance. I thought that model was slightly smaller... Thanks Joe

Thanks Joe , this gear is off the shelf from a hobby shop. They are Great Planes p.n. GPMQ1800 and 2-3/4" wheels. I had to do some trimming with a coping saw for the battery box but it was easy to do. I have 2-1/2" ground clearance to the prop tip with the tail wheel on the ground and a nice wide stance. I've been real happy with them and they are holding up well.

Thank you M and everyone else for the nice compliments. There sure are a lot of nice looking cubs out there. What a great plane to mess around with doing all sorts of mods. It doesn't seem like there are many other planes that get as customized as the Super Cub.

Had a little accident today but it's been awhile since I've had the walk of shame . Things were going awesome but then I had a depth perception error with a big Oak tree. It looks like I'll only need a wing and fuse to repair it but it will probably be the end of the Bird Dog era. I won't be giving up the super cub but it might be time for a new paint scheme. Or not, we'll see Jim

Hey, looks like your prop is still good. Oak tree huh? too bad it wasn't a soft wood like pine or cedar. ;D
That's a real shame, such a nice looking cub. I think your Cub gave me the inspiration for my USCG Cub.
Lets all have a few moments of silence please....
