hey patmatgal, yes they are the dubro skis, and they have about 4 inches or so of flat surface, the length is less important i think than the balance and the weight

Solarfilm for foam.They make[at least 20 years ago] a low heat shrink covering.Set the iron on low,stick it in a sock and experiment.Bottom first and let top overlap. Monokote will melt it for sure.A second pair of hands to stretch it around wingtips and curves helps.Randy in Toledo--zo6driver.
