I bought a bunch of spare Super Cub parts from a guy off Craigslist who lost his plane. In the lot of parts were some 10x8E props. What's the difference between the stock 10x8 prop and a 10x8E prop? What does the "E" suffix stand for?
Thanks in advance.

Assume that's an APCe 10x8. e=electric as opposed to SF=slow fly. The PZ is a SF prop with a fat blade. Such blades are not meant for high RPM's. They tend to favor thrust over speed (think low gears vs. high gears). An e-prop will have less blade area, likely less thrust, consume less Amps, and possibly rev up a bit better. Which you prefer will be somewhat a factor of battery (use the e-prop for 3S lipo, maybe even a smaller one like 10x6), and personal taste. As long as none are larger they should be OK. GWS SF props are pretty flimsy. They work but are more likely to distort. Do some reading here: www.ampaviators.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=38&Itemid=27There are several articles on props in that site and good stuff on SC. Read it all. Good info. fly

Thanks for the help. I guess I'll just have to test it out tonight, and see how it will work for me. I'm not sure of what brand the prop is, but it seems higher quality than the stock HobbyZone / ParkZone props.

Most props (except GWS SF) are higher quality and cheaper than PZ. At least the GWS are way cheaper. ;D
I used an e-flite 10x7 for a long time with good results. For a number of other props you'll either need a prop adapter (collet adapter) or a prop saver and cut the shaft down as the hole size in the prop will be different and it won't bolt on right. If you use a prop saver do double rubber bands. The output of the Cub is a bit on the high side for prop adapters.
The Cub is a 4mm shaft.

Well, I flew with the 10x8E prop last night. My first impressions were that it didn't seem to have as much thrust / lift as using the stock prop. It may result in a longer lasting flight, but I didn't have a chance to find out since it was getting dark and I had to land.
In any case, I don't think those props will be good for my application since I need the thrust in order to lift my camera that I usually have on board.
Thanks for the help.
