Just tried a wooden prop made by Top Flight, and the results are awsome.
Converted my prop shaft awhile ago and was running a Master Airscrew with good result (10x8). Found one of these at my local HS and thought I'd give it a try.
The weight is as light as the stock prop and the pull is great. Flew with Lipo's (11v/1000ma) for about 12 min constant at above half throttle.
It's a keeper !!!
Cheers

Glad to hear you liked it! I tried them a long time ago and like them as well. I broke one and never ended up putting one back on. I may have to revisit that idea. I have a bunch of them in my field box for the nitro's that are perfect on the cub.
Are you using the stock motor and esc?

Yes completely stock set-up, except for the battery.
P.S.
I went flying this evening, did nothing but high speed passes and at the end got crossed up in the sun and put in the groung at full speed. 3 cartwheels !
Results: bent prop rod and loose firewall !!! Not even a broken cowl !

I just tried a Master Airscres 10x8 and it worked fine. Seemed to have a bit less pull, but not sure. It was raining so that could have caused the feel of less power. Was able to fly inverted for more than 5 seconds with little wind.
When I put on the second battery, it would hardly fly. I guess the accumulated rain was just too much. I should have dried it off befoew takeoff. I wonder what the stock prop would have done? Afterwards I dried the fuse and checked inside and the battery and esc were still dry, cool. And then I took the cowl off and the motor was also dry. Now that seems wierd cause I didn't cover the air scoop on the bottom. Guess even flying inverted in the rain is ok.
all stock parts cept prop as described above.

Turns out one of my 2 stock 7 cells didn't charge very well again. That's why the second battery would hardly fly in the rain. Then next day I was on my way home after the 2nd battery only flew for 20 seconds then cut out and watched the charger (set to 1.2a) and before I got home, about 3 minutes, the charger already said charged. So either the battery is bad or the charger battery combo is bad. I switched batterys and chargers and will try that next. I have two 1.2a dc chargers. I guess I need a watt meter to know watts up. ;-)

Mike. it sounds like your lipo jumper came loose. You might want to check it before you scrap the battery.

Just fyi, I just saw the above post. I just put in a lipo and the lipo jumper was still on. After charging the bad battery on the other charger, the same thing happenned, very short flight time, so I think it's shot. In any case, my lipo is 2400mah and I get 20 minutes at 2/3 throttle so the one good stock battery will probably never be used in the sc again. I'll use it in my slo-v which doesn't get much use since I'll only fly it in calm. Oh, I think I'll try the bad battery in the slo-v on the ground to see what happens.
