Nope I use 9x4.7s. How do they work? I've been thinking about experimenting with other props.

Whoops. I forgot. I switched to 10x6s and they seem to work great, however, I want to try a 10x8.

the 11x8 will give you more thrust with less speed. also will raise the amp draw from the motor making your flight time shorter if you run wide open. plus like crashed said you are that much more likely to have the prop hit the ground when taking off and landing, but bigger wheels will help.
i like the apc E 10x8 or the master air screw 10x8. i used both when my cub was stock and had alot better luck with them over stock, and they are cheaper depending on were you get them. now with my brushless set up i have been running either the apc E 10x5 or 10x7, tried the 9x7 and it was too fast with out enough thrust.

So far they seem to be ok. The blades are more flexiable than the 10x8 I normally run.

I use APC 10X7e's and really like them. Plenty of low end torque for fast take offs and for speed. They are very stiff too compared to the stock props, (cheaper too).

If you are considering the APC , (like most users on this thread) you should know this. The APC 10x8E is different from the 10x8SF. I am not sure if its the composition of the material of the prop, but what you will definitely notice is the spacers. The 10x8E will come with spacers of all different sizes to accommodate almost any size prop shaft you may have. Whereas the 10x8SF comes with only 2 spacers which may/may not work for your plane. Just a tidbit to keep in mind. Colin.

^^^ plus if you are using lipos you may over run the slow flyer prop rpm wise. they are meant for lower rpm geared applications. im not 100% sure what rpm the stock motor will turn on lipo but its just a thought.

Second that . APC 10X7E prop is a really nice bit of kit looks good (coloured mine gold) really good torque and nice speed. slot right on eflight 480 910kv. together you can pull out of a stall just feet off the ground.Handy in the wind.

Those of you messing around with larger props on the stock system would do well to read this over carefully: supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=motors&thread=4624Prop sizes are not the whole story. a skinny bladed GWS 10x6 is essentially the same as the stock fat blade 9x6. A fat blade 10x7 or the old stock 10x8 are entirely different prop, pull a LOT more amps and risk burning out the $50 ESC. You've been warned. ;D If you are going to start playing with props and motor combos you really do want a wattmeter. Without one you are a bunch of happy blind men patting each other on the back.

Fly, As always, expert and most valued advice. You have taught me so so much, more than I can ever repay. I remain in your shadow.

You should run out from under my shadow and get a wattmeter. Then you can start throwing your own shadow.
I should have looked a the thread dates. This one was all conducted in 2007 with the OLD NimH powered Cub that used 10x8 props. The 11x7 was OK with THAT setup.
Jason is putting an 11x7 on an eflite 480 910kv motor (not stock). Probably OK. He can figure that out for himself.
I want to make sure folks reading this resurrected thread don't get the idea that you can throw any old prop on it you have around in the hopes of getting more power for 'free'. It simply does not work that way.

To dare to correct you fly im using a 10x7e not 11x7 the e is not a slow fly and 10x7 is the minimum required for my motor.Alot of people dont prop to the motor but in fact the stock plane manufacturer requirements...this is wronge! I run a 40 amp eflite esc and 50c 2200mah turnigy nanotec. Not cheap parts and good quality, my esc is mounted in the front of fuse and has 100% unrestricted airflow. I have absolutly no problems at all and in fact could prop up,however i am happy with power:flightime ratio so the apc 10x7e is the one for me. Thanks jason

Also to note my cub is NOT stock. Eflte 480 (910kv) I would NOT recomend this prop on a stock setup cub! It WILL cause damage.
