;D Howdy folks! I'm Sam, a somewhat new fixed-wing flier in Oregon. Had my SC a couple of weeks already - and I love it when the wind isn't ripping through the Gorge. Earlier this week, I had three good nights of flying. Cycled through my three battery packs several times each night, doing simple laps around the local field. Touch-n-gos, low/slow fly-bys, the occasional loop and inverted flight. Not too bad for my first go at fixed-wing fun (I'm normally at the sticks of a heli). However, all good things must come to an end - and as you can see in the linked photos, I had a nice run-in with the ground. i2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/BoraxTheClean/IMG_1027.jpgi2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/BoraxTheClean/IMG_1028.jpgPoor, poor Cubbie. Never knew what hit 'em. I'm not one to let a wreck get me down, so off to the LHS I went. I'm currently rebuilding the beast - but with my own guts as much as possible. HS-81 servos, Micro 05S receiver - but I'd like a suggestion as what to use for a speed control. I have a spare E-Flite 10 A one hanging around - so with the fact that I'm going to continue to use the NiMH batteries and the stock motor - will that be enough of a speed control? Can't wait to get this up in the air again, it was so much fun. Thanks in advance for all your help! Sam

I'm hoping that as soon as the motor main shaft comes in, I'll be back in the air. I'm not one to let a wreck keep me down!

Just got the main motor shaft in - now I'll start adding in the rest of the parts. I'm hoping to be airborne again very, very soon! I'm excited to fly it with the standard electronics and my DX7!
