I have been trying one for the last two times out and I think I am getting excessive vibration and loss of RPM/Power. It's hard to say because it has been windy. I'm going to take it off to confirm there is an issue next time. The one I got is this one: www.bphobbies.com/view.asp?id=V504514&pid=V916781When I use the adapter, I can hear the prop sound changes, especially under load when climbing. Just doesn't sound right. I'm using the stock prop here by the way. If anyone has been using one that works well, please recommend it here. Dave Mc

I'm very, but very new to planes, but is'nt that prop the wrong way round? Just asking... *Blushing*

The photo could be showing the propeller on a plane that pushes instead of pulls. It is just a thought.

The Cub develops a fair amount of power and a prop saver is marginal on them. First, make sure it is a "good fit" and not sloppy on the saver. Then double up on STRONG O-rings. The O-rings stretch out after awhile and either need to be taken off after each flying session or replace occasionally.
I DO use them and I've actually had single O-ring fixed props displace with loops and such. Makes a terrible racket. Today I had that funny vibration on loops. Changed the tired O-rings and it went away.

What kind of O rings? Are they made for it? I don't recall seeing anything like that in magazines or online....

I bought a prop saver a few weeks back but because of one thing or anotha i havent been able to fly - i couldn't get the o ring to stay on the screws, they just kept slipping off the end, but i had got different props to the stock ones. in the end i had to go buy some stock props from a model shop an now it works fine, just need to fly it

There are a lot of different prop savers. Some just plain work better with some props. People will also make their own out of broken prop hubs or even a Popsicle stick. If it has any side-to-side give at all then it's not a good fit. If you don't balance your props you are looking for trouble. Some of them are pretty bad.
