hey everyone, this is tom/corsair, and my son would like me to make him a set of floats so that he can fly off water at school. since i have never made floats for the water, i would like to know if someone can help me[ instruct me] on how to make these, or if anyone knows where i can get a set already make for the super cub, or even in a kit form would be ok too. also how and what is the best way to attach them to the plane? please answer as soon as you can so that i can get started ans send them off to him at school.

Tom, In this section alone there are 5 threads about floats. bigtone has compiled a good read about installing, adjusting and where to buy.You can also find a couple on how to build your own but for $10.00 I would probably just buy some. Good luck with your project.

this is tom/corsair, thanking all of you who have helped me with the float situation for my sons cub. he loves this plane just as much as i do, and i have reached over 300 flights today with no problems thus far!!! i'll get on this project with the floats. must be great to be in florida.....[ learning how to become an airline pilot]....every day is a flying day!!! thanks again Jim, and all of the help from everyone....tom/corsair

I had a set of 24" floats made for my Cub and it flys great with a 3 cell Lipo battery. And don't be too worried about flipping it. It floats real well up-side down. The GWS floats work on the Cub but are a bit small and heavier. With the standard battery, I was just able to get it off the water. Below is a link to their web-site. Lakewash, may I ask how much and what type float you got? Seems to be quite a few choices.
