hi everyone, this is tom/corsair and i have found a way to stop the nose-over that happens every time that we land. even on ''perfect'' landings on short grass, i have had the same problem with the nose-over landings. what i did was use a set of 2.75 inch vintage style wheels, and made up a new set of landing gear using piano wire. [and making them at least an inch and a half longer that the factory ones.] after you have copied all of the bends, bend the landing gear forward at the base of the fuselage so that the wheels have a slightly forward angle. use wheel collars to hold the wheels in place, [ two on each wheel] and leave just enough room so the the wheels are free to roll, but not wobble. make the ''axle'' part of the landing gear as long as you want, as you can try all different types of wheels, and still have enough axle for all of them to fit. also, use a one inch tailwheel instead of the one that comes with the plane. take out the hub, and put it into the new wheel. [williams, dubro, etc.] if the side of the tire rubs against the tailwheel wire, rub the tire over some sandpaper so that the sides are ''flat'' and do not touch the wire. this has worked great for me, and depending on how tall the grass is, determines what size tires i need to use at whatever field i am flying in.
