Why does the wheel/hub on my Dubro 's look so different? Pic of cjg's Dubro lite foam 2 3/4" wheels. Pic of my Dubro lite foam 2 1/2" wheels. Just put them on and can't find the package they came in to verify they are dubro. Not that it matters much they work, it's just got me scratching my head now. Will have to make another trip to the LHS I bought them from to see what mine are. mac Looks like you got the Dave Brown Ulta Lites...which are actually better, since you don't have to do ant grinding of the hub.

Thanks I8again, when I saw the price of the ones I bought at my LHS I didn't even pay attention to the manufacture. SB352 paid more for smaller wheels at the LHS he likes to go to. ;D

I have my wheels ready and waiting...but can't get the danged rear wheel off. It doesn't seem to be a 'nut' like the other front ones. Does it pull off?
Thanks.

I think the larger foam wheels look better and they do perform much better.

I am new to flying RC planes and new to this excellent board. I added Trexler Balloon Wheels to my cub. It was easy to modify the hubs because they are wood. The tires are natural rubber that are inflated for use with a small bulb that has a needle like one used to inflate a ball. They look very authentic, and roll very well over the grass. Does anyone have any experience with these wheels?

How heavy are the rubber inflated wheels? Does it affect your flying?

I would say if anything they are lighter than foam. I have not flown enough know one way or another.

those look cool.... I have the Dave brown 2 3/4" lite flites on mine... they seem a bit sticky to turn... I don't tighten the nut all the way and they spin freely, although I'm afraid of a wheel coming off on take off or landing... I tried lubricating the axle with WD40, and I ground down the inside of the hub a bit with my dremel hoping taht would free up the wheel a bit, but it doesn't seem to work that well.
Any suggestions to help the wheels spin more freely after I've tightened the wheel nuts all they way?

I bought some 4-40 lock nuts that work well for me. They are not as deep as the stock ones so they don't take as many turns to tighten. In other words you can tighten them down snug and your wheels still have a little play in them for spinning freely.

I just put these on a couple of days ago www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5210They are 3" but I had to drill them out to fit the stock landing gear. I also used a piece of hard plastic 1/4" tubing to take up the extra space since these wheels are so thin (and light). Now I can take off in the rough grass where I fly. I've had a couple of good landings too, but I still need work in the rough grass. Mike
