Just did the wheel mod during my total-Cub rebuild. All I had to do was use the Dremel and grind down the inside of the hub on the 2 3/4" lite foamies and drill out the 1" tail wheel. Looks good with bigger meats on it. Should make roll outs a lot smoother.

I used a standard drill. I got a drill bit that fit into the opening of the stock back wheel and used that to drill out my new wheel.

Last pic is of top of plane as im new to posting pics and i think its always good to see what were always talking about, so heres my CUB Miss Diablo. Hi garvey. The Diablo looks good. Instead of posting the link from photobucket you should copy and paste the img code at the bottom of the list under the selected photo in photobucket. That way the pics will be on the post without clicking on the link. Just a suggestion of couarse.

Discovered a way simple trick for larger wheels. The DuBro foam hubs and our stock hubs can be taken apart; they're split rims, so to speak. Remove the hubs from each and put the stock Cub hubs inside the big DuBro tires. Fits perfect, and eliminates all grinding and filling and all that business.

I used two layers of heatshrink tubing on the stock axle, that allowed the 5/32 aluminum tubing to fit snugly over top. Bearweasel's way seams a lot simpler though!

hi, I'm thinkin of buyin new wheels for my SC to make takeoff, taxxing and landing softer and easier. I'll pobably get a 1" tailwheel and 2 3/4" main wheels. Do you think these rubber Radio Active Wheels would be ok or should I go with foam ones?
