As you all know i fly in a very small unique place
I have to take off one direction and then come back and land the same way
The fields shape is sort of like a obtuse triangle
Now taking off i heads towards the widest part of the field ( which is not saying much ) But
there is a line of trees at the end .I also have to navigate a turn when i come back to land and judge how close i am to those trees
Some models are no big deal and are sort of floaty, but a few are faster and i have to make a quick turn and get lined up
at the same time within seconds to land where i need to.
I decided to cut the tree's down at that end as they go across a slight embankment and below that
( many years ago ) use to be a driveway that lead up to a Farm house that once was there ( Interstate there now )
on the other side of that is a dip and then the field goes up a hill and gets really narrow very quickly
If i cut that line of trees down ( they are not very big a few are taller than others ) I would have more space to go out and make
a wider turn and be able to line up for the runway, not to mention will give me more room to take off if need be
( but really no issues taking off )
plenty of room for that already. It is just the landing and having to make a turn and line up and land all in one fast action
is stressful at times and I have ditched planes into the grass knowing I could not land on the mowed section without hitting pretty hard.
So that is my project..issue with me is, my health makes it difficult and it takes a lot of time for me to recover after any
strenuous activity.
Work a few hours and then takes days to get over it. But exercise is a good thing for me ,just in moderation and not to strenuous.( Heart issues )
I just hope with all this registration and FAA/DOT regulations i do not lose my flying location and be forced to
go elsewhere to do so ( for me that will end my hobby ) I have to be close to home.
anyway I will think positive and do what i can, and in hopes i will fly there for a few more years anyway.
I have come to enjoy this field and the close to home makes it perfect for me.
Just wanted to share . ( really not suppose to be doing this kind of Stuff...But....)
I hope all are well and getting to fly and enjoying their hobbies no matter what they are.
