I have been frustrated by the weather over the Christmas break. Winds, rain and more wind.. Today looked better so I charged some batteries and headed out. Did I say no wind? 15mph and gusting to 20mph at times by the time I got to the field. I'd only taken old faithful Supercub, so nearly went home. Then figured 'what the hell, it's the only chance I'll get', and was glad I did. Easily the wildest weather I've flown in - challenging, at times scary as I caught her from a gust and hovering while flying into the wind. Great fun, though I came as close as I'm hoping to to a nasty crash when the wind caught it as I buzzed low over the trees for a landing, reactions were quick enough and a thumbfull of throttle along with some elevator meant I could go around.
Difficult landings, but they all ended on the wheels... And valuable skills have been learned, pleased with how natural the controls have become.

Many can not brag about their windy flights , they tend to end of bad.
Great to hear yours did not. You must have a real natural talent , only a few naturally have with these RC Planes.

Well, I don't know about that - I am finding it pleasingly comfortable. Something I can do and it feels pretty natural.
Whether I'm especially talented, I doubt... But I normally fly only in safe conditions, and yesterday was a risk I only took due to frustration at lack of air time.
I'm glad it didn't turn out to be an expensive mistake - and valuable skills are now in the bank.
