Just received my HZ Super Cub DSM and assembled it. I charged the stock battery and tried test fitting it into the battery box. I tried many things (wires to front/wires to rear/sideways/front in first/rear in first) to get it to fit but it seems to be a tad too long. I am afraid of damaging the wires that come out of the pack by having them scrap on the plastic if I try to force it in any more than I have tried.
Anyone have advice on how to get the battery in there without damaging it?

It is a very snug fit. Wires to the front and the front nearer the door is how I did it to start, but in the end I cut out the rear supports of the battery box to make more room without adversely affecting anything.

Thanks sham. I was thinking of cutting the box but thought I might be doing something wrong and wanted to double check first. Is the box removeable or do I need to cut it while it is in the plane?

Its removable, with care, but I did mine in situ with no problems. I simply removed the 2 vertical supports at the rear and all was good. Its still snug, but the battery fits without risk to the wires now.
I haven't bothered with larger batteries, strengthening or electronic upgrades like some do as I like the cub as is... But I did cut the box, remove ACT and tape the front edge of the wing as well as large wheels as I land on grass.

I see where most everyone had to modify the Battery box....But I did not change mine at all in anyway. I did enforce it at the opening, but did not Mod to the Box itself. It is a tight fit, but i have no issues putting my batteries in nor getting them out ....why ? I have no idea...but Thankful for it.

The box was designed for a 7-cell NiMh. As in many things about the SC they made some improvements/changes but ignored some glaring problems. It's a tight fit best of cases. I think some batteries end up being a bit longer depending on who soldered them together and make for a particularly tight fit. If you are truly damaging the wires getting it in and out you definitely should do some creative carving. Shorted lipo wires are a very nasty thing.

I actually put my battery in wire end first, found it works better and is easier to get in..it sets an a downward angle butt end sticking up..door closes fine..when done I reach in with my fingers and grab edge of each side and it pulls out nicely so the battery is setting sort of this angle--> / <-- down in the box .A tad more level .

I did not damage the wires as I was being careful in testing the fit. I was afraid to use more force than I was in case it would damage the wires. So this is why I posted my question. I did end up modifying the box and all is well. Picked up a Venom 2100 3S battery and it fits fine also.
