I've just purchased an E-flight universal light controller and plan to run 4 led's (2red, 2green) just to help me see my cub at dusk. I have a spectrum dx6 and was wondering if there is a way to "control" the lights with the dx6 through the stock esc or should I just plug into the batt/bind port? Or will this use too much power?
Thanks

I have a spectrum dx6 and was wondering if there is a way to "control" the lights with the dx6 through the stock esc or should I just plug into the batt/bind port? Or will this use too much power? Thanks Looking at the advert for the kit - it looks like you should be able to plug into the rudder port on the RX and program the rudder channel on your DX6 to the desired settings. It looks like the lights would activate with the stick centred and turn off when its moved to the left... but you could muck around with the programming if you wished.
Otherwise, you could maybe use mixing to activate the lights on the rudder channel using a D/R or the flaps switch if you don't use it for anything else. This would have the desired effect, but I'm not advanced enough with the DX6 to give exact instructions.
EDIT: I was playing using the settings and the DX6i monitor in the menu and I did this which should work.
You need to disable the rudder stick by using the MIX1 settings. And then use Mix 2 to set Rudder to a different transmitter control - I've used the gear channel here which isn't used on the standard set up and activated it using the ELE D/R switch. Then reversing the Rudder channel gives the equivalent of centred rudder with the ele d/r switch off and full right with the ele d/r set to on. Tweaking the settings should make it work with the light unit in the rudder port, but I have no light unit to play with so can't be sure...

Thanks so much, This is my first plane and my first dx6, so I'm not to familiar with how it works. I'll try what you've posted and report back. It's raining here today so this is a perfect time for me to mess around.

Its steep curve with the DX6i and I'm very much at the bottom. I've only had my cub and TX for 6 months or so. I only just started with the more complex settings due to wanting 3 position flaps on my new plane.. Got that working and what you want is a similar principle.
I hope you get it working.
