I just finished cutting out the top forward part of the battery cage in order to make more room for the battery. Now the battery seems to fit in much better without having to be squashed into the little compartment on the diagonal. However, now I wonder if, in the process, I have made the battery-cage/landing gear mount/receiver-mount plastic complex loose from the fuselage. Now if I pull slightly on one side of the landing gear, the plastic complex seems to pull away a little from the foam fuselage at the bottom. MY QUESTION is how is the plastic complex attached to the foam fuselage? How can I tell if I have damaged the attachment? Also, if indeed I have loosened the attachment by the pressure of my cutting, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO repair the attachment. Do the 4 screws at the bottom make this attachment, or is it a glue thing? If a glue thing, what type of glue should I use for repair?

Glue thing. My personal advice would be use some 5 minute epoxy, smear it everywhere you can round the cage, and also the bottom, where it joins the underside of the fuselage, then leave alone for an hour. The cage will be rock solid, with no movement. I actually used hot melt glue, but that's 'cos I'm lazy.

The plastic battery box is not glued in place. It is held only by those four screws. Personally, I have never found any glue which will adhere to its shiny plastic, but don't be afraid to try Toff's advice. You might find that in practice you don't need to repair it. Mine has been broken for ages but causes no problem. My battery is held securely by the velcro straps. An important point to remember when doing anything with the battery box - if you really foul up, you cannot just buy a replacement box. For some unfathomable reason, HZ doesn't sell them as a spare part. You can only get a new one by buying a whole new fuselage!

With the advent of the new 3D printers, it is sort of interesting that no one is making them. I'll have to look into that, as I have previously ordered some camera mounts from a fellow who did them on his 3D printer. He may or may not be interested in doing such though. Just a thought in someone going to Staples or such to see if they can reproduce one, as I believe they do that at certain stores. Not for sure though.
