For structural or minor foam repair, I am hooked on White Gorilla Glue. Spray some water on it before you join the two pieces. It expands, but big deal. Trim as necessary.
Both my wind and fuselage have been split in two ... glued them back together and flown dozens of times with no failure.

Hot glue on foam if you want back in the air in 15-20 mins.

you have to take inconsideration of weight. hot glue is very heavy and tends to pull apart from the foam. unless you are flying brushless, therefore giving the plane more power to weight ratio. 5 minute epoxy is the best method i have found.
