Can anybody tell me what is the best thing to fill holes in styrofoam with? I'm wanting to fit lights to the wingtips of my cub and run the wires down the wing to the fuselage. Short of boring a hole through the wing (which I can see going very wrong). I figured the best way would be to cut a little trench for the wires down the wing then fill it in. But i'm not sure what to fill it in with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

i just velcroed some of these: www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1100on my wing, no wires to worry about on the wing if you want just 1 led on each tip, just run one wire on the front of the wing, one wire on the back, and cover them with tape. I dont know what you would want to fill holes with, gorilla glue is messy, and sanding it down would be hard. I would just use tape

if you run wires down the wing to the body you will have to leave the wing inplace all the time , unless you have a conecter just before the fusalage you can plug in and out before and after flying! theriaa had the right idea, i too use similar lights but my ones are those party finger lights, work a treat. if you still want to spend time running channels in the wing i would tape over them just encase you need to get at the wires, or if your not botherd run some 5 min clear epoxy resin down them. hope were helping

If you are going to just cut trenches, tack the wire in with some epoxy and fill it with some light spackle if you want to paint later. If you are not going to paint, just use some decent tape to cover the trench.

Thanks very much guys. I think you're all right, I'm trying to do too much and make it too complicated. I think i'll go with the LED keyrings and modify them a little to make it work for me. I've ordered some flashing LEDs that I can use to replace the standard ones in the keyrings I've ordered. I'll see how that works out for me! I'll keep you posted.

if you cut trenches just make them really tight and use your fingernail to get the wires in and then cover them with blenderm tape from your hobby shop. great stuff I use it for my aileron servo wires. really sticks well. lightweight too!
