While making repairs I caused on my SC, due to an unseen broken motor mount, I decided to add ailerons to the wing. I already have one SC with ailerons in progress, so I decided to take it ONE STEP FURTHER: Edit: New location for information Details: rnew.lonestarfieros.org/SuperCub/

Grubby..Looks like we live close by. I'd love to see your low-winger fly. Is that a Cy Fair HS football stadium? I am near Willowbrook in Champions. Do you belong to a local club? So far, all I do is crash, crash and crash. I could use some hints....Richg99

I'm VERY interested in how you did the low wing mod. Can you post more images and perhaps a detailed description of how you did it?
Thanks, Greg

Nice trike setup. I had thought about that a lil while back but I want to stick with the high wing.

Well, after the holidays and the flu, the low-wing has made its maiden flight. It made a very smooth, level take-off and was easy to control. It appeared to be in good balance, even though the CG rig shows that it is tail heavy.
I flew it to about 15ft and made a slow turn and flew the plane down wind about 75-100ft. I turned back into the wind and began the approach. It landed perfectly. BIG GRINS ALL OVER!!! Now I can breath.
Sorry I can't post a video, but the wife just didn't feel up to getting out. I still have some work to do before completion. I want to work on the balance a bit and I still need to complete the roof. I'll be complete by the weekend and will post video.
Now I have a question. I'm using the 10x8 prop that was originally on the SC. Making the plane a tricycle greatly reduced prop clearance. During the process of adjusting rudder trim (remember, nose steering is off the rudder servo) I taxied into loose gravel and gnawed about 1/4" inch off the prop. That caused an extreme loss of thrust. The plane wouldn't even lift off the ground after that. The reduction of prop diameter combined with the mangled tips disrupted the air severely.
Based on the plf formula on Amp Aviators, I'm considering a 9x9 two blade, a 9x10 two blade, or a 9x8 three blade.
I'd like your opinions and suggestions. Thanks
grubby

The low-wing SC now has a canopy and is nearing completion. Additionally, I've had a couple of requests for the template I used in calculating and marking the cut for the wing move, so I've uploaded a template that can be used to mark and cut your wing move, if you chose to do so. It is a pdf. Just click on the link (Pic # 5 - Making the cut) and download or print the page at 100%. Dimensions are on the page so you can print at different sizes if your template doesn't print at the correct size. Seeya grubby out rnew.lonestarfieros.org/SuperCub/
