added a drop module then after 6thinking came up with this might help new owners. bought a larger parchute than came with drop module and on flights that might be risky put chute in drop module and attach lines to rear landing gear with a fishing swivel. if in trouble cut motor and pop chute may not completely save cub but will cut down on damage if high enough. this is really useful if trying inverted flight works for me might for you

could be fun too lol, paint a big target and see who gets close. i guess it would make a good fail safe.

I see a drop module in my near future! They use the same type of setup on some real planes, and has saved more than one pilots a$$.

Yes, it's called a BRS, Ballistic Recovery System ( www.brsparachutes.com/default.aspx) I have developed my own that fits into an old TV remote battery compartment, then that gets fitted flush with the top of the wing. It is spring-loaded and held in place with a servo arm. Hit the switch, the servo arm moves allowing the spring loaded door to fly open. The door is attached to elestic (for shock-absorption) which unravels and pulls the main chute out (this design negated the use of a explosive system like the real one). I'll post some pics soon!

Could be useful. My experience is that all my big problems have happened so close to the ground and often in such a short time frame I could hardly even hit a panic button.
