Sorry if this has been done already. I tried a search but didn't find a thread like this. Anyway, I was thinking of several things to do with the x-port. I am new to this so I'll need a little help but I was thinking about possibly shooting off some rockets using model rocket ignitors or something. And yes, I know this may cause me the need to purchase a new super cub Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

personally I think thats a very bad idea. I would just encourage you to take extra care not to "show off" your new rocket launching rc plane to a croud of people that could end up as targets... Remember safety 1st. Ohh and take lots of pictures...

yeh yeh i know. And I only fly at my old middle school where there is never anybody around, at all. And I'm not trying to "show off" anything. Just time to myself. I won't fly with people around, cause I hate having them watch to see if I crash, lol. Not that that's what you were saying, but you know. Just trying to think of cool things to do. Can I just buy a connector that fits the x-port at my LHS, then find out which wire sends out the current with a multimeter?

I would strongly advise being careful what pictures you post on the internet. If you launch an estes rocket off the cub that violates the AMA rules and insurance but is perfectly legal. Those pictures are fine as long as you know if someone gets hurt you are not covered. Fireworks work 10 times better than rockets and the igniters will light the fuses easily. I wouldn't post any pictures if you try them. I was a big offender of launching fireworks like saturn 5 missle batteries and bottle rockets. If I still do, I'm not telling. I posted a bunch of pictures of my scale OH6 Little bird helicopter launching 50 fireworks style rockets off of it a few years back. I was advised to take them down and informed people have been arrested and given rediculous jail time for doing that. Fireworks illegal here in Georgia and you may get a small fine and the cops will take your fireworks if you get caught which is no big deal. But by launching them off something such as my helicopter can be deamed a terroristic weapon and is a felony. I think it is completely rediculous but a judge may not look at it as a toy.

yeh thanks for the advise, man. What I was actually talking about was using a rocket/firework with some type of foam-melting-protection to kind of blast my SC at high alt, not shoot projectiles as I would hate to start a fire. And, as I intended with the production of this thread, to think about other things we could do with the x-port. I know my og. post may have sounded mis-leading but I was just trying to stirr-up ideas.

thecreepa117, IMO This is a really bad idea regardless of your intentions. You should never attach any pyrotechs to your plane. What if the plane catches fire and you lose control and it crashes into a house.
For your safety and the integrity of RC flying please fly safe and try to follow AMA guidelines.

Here's something that you could try that would be really cool and safer than what your thinking! How about getting a Micro rtf plane something small like an Estes 4160 or Aero Ace or something and coming up with some type of fixture to mount it on top of the cubs rear portion of the plane. Then have your kid or your buddy have the RC in his or her hands for that plane and make it so that you can use the Xport button to eject that plane off of the cub and then have the other person control that other plane and bring it in! Just something I was thinking as I ordered my cub last night with the drop kit. If someone does this I would like to see pics and some video! )
