I was gonna upgrade to lipo, but I just read this. I plan to charge my batteries overnight, but with my habits even in the day I can't monitor them. manuals.hobbico.com/gpm/gpmp0800-0831-manual-v1_2.pdfSo, suddenly lipos may not be such a great idea? I don't have a garage where I could put them in the middle of a big concrete floor, nor a good place outside. And there is that thread just below this one, most dangerous battery in the world.... I'm with you. Although I envy the advantages of lipo batteries I could not relax with them in my house or car. I optimistically look forward to the next generation of carefree lipo batteries.

i would cycle them a few times under a watch full eye just to make sure that there is no factory defects. if all goes well i wouldn't worry to much as long as you follow all the precautionary procedures that go along with lipo batteries. i am doing that right now with both my lipos i just got to make sure there is noting wrong and to make sure that they are ready to hold max capacity.

Just follow all the rules of lipo charging. You will be fine. There is no margin for error really. You must attend them. That is not much to ask for the amount of power you recieve. I leave a rack of 100+ lipo's when I leave for vacation or go to bed every night and sleep just fine. I follow all the rules too though. They are only as safe as the person using them...if you think your not fit to own one then maybe it's not for you. Some folks cannot own a pitbull....some can.

I dont find it hard to find time to charge my lipo's. I spend a good deal of time on my computer so i just charge them when im online.
If you want to charge them at night drop the charger in your wife/girlfriend pot for cooking turkey and let them charge. just dont tell her. it might be more haserdous than the lipo's
