Hi garvey76, This is the charger I bought, I'm not to sure about all the amps and volts and things, it boggles my mind I noticed it when buying the batteries and decided just to get it too, all I had to do was make up a mini tamiya connector for it so it would fit the Cub's battery connection. You can look at the spec of it here......... cgi.ebay.co.uk/Intelligent-Multi-Fast-Charger-for-NiCd-NiMH-batteries_W0QQitemZ300133962818QQihZ020QQcategoryZ34063QQcmdZViewItemSorry the hyperlink is broken but you can copy and paste it into your browser and take the space out. The charger cost me £11.50 and takes about 2.5 - 3 hours to charge my 1400mah packs. I'm sure the other guys on here will know more about the suitable types of chargers for these batteries. Like you, I loved the car charger but since it's not suitable for the 1400's I now charge them the night before I fly and they work fine.

^^ the charger that cybersoft has a pic of you have to select the number of cells in the battery, this controls the amount of voltage that the charger will give, so if you select to few, it will i undercharge it, to many and it will over charge. not really a big deal, but if you do have a 7 and cell it could happen.

Thanks for your input duck9191 The yellow circle on the left is cell count, 2 to 10 cells and on the right is a selector for 300Mah or 600Mah. Below that, in the centre is a very small button, this is a discharge button. On 300mah it seemed to take forever to charge and on 600mah it takes around 2.5 to 3 hours. The downside, Now that I've tasted some extra power, I'm going to have to buy another charger to do my LiPo's when I get them. This takes a bit of bargaining with the wife when it's all for "that stupid polystyrene thing" that I "play around with" They just don't understand us ;D

well done garvey76,
I'm sure you'll be impressed when you fly her. They are a good deal considering they are cheaper to buy than stock batteries.
Just make sure when you plug it in that the wire doesn't push out on the connector on the cub end, I had this problem and it caused cutting out in the early days but once I realised the problem, it's never happened again and it fliers great.

^^^ ya it caused me a 30 foot spiral in to the ditch. the pin backed out and she cut out full left rudder and a little up elevator. it was a good thing to because it just made slow spirals to the ground. only damage was the landing gear came off.
you will like the difference over stock, it gives you some extra wind protection and a little more fun power.

it depends on your hobby shop if they make batteries or not, but cheapbatterypacks.com is a good place to go too, they have the elite 1500 8 cell packs pretty cheap and they work great. The ordering page for this battery has lots of options. Could you please help this noob out with what I should select? Also, does one of the chargers that comes with the SC charge this thing? If not, is there a good higher mAH battery that the stock chargers can charge? Thanks! Eph

/\ /\ /\ /\ /\ Hi eph i wouldn't use the cub charger for any battery over 7 cell, remind me i think its turned up to full 1.2a anyway. I have the car charger from the Parkzone Mustang that i think charges up to about a 10 cell. i Use 8 cell 1400mah and (9 cell 1100 mah from the mustang) I think I'm right in saying its the number of cells you need to watch when choosing a charger, the mah part means longer flight times This is the page with the details of what battery to go for www.cheapbatterypacks.com/main.asp?sid=817150&pgid=superlisting&type=airplane&manufacturer=28&model=367. it shows the cost of the cubs 7 cell for the elite 1500 cells. if you go to where they custom make packs and pick out the same but 8 cell maybe even 9, that should be all you need to do. the charger I'm talking about only cost about £20 www.parkzone.com/Products/Gallery.aspx?ProdID=PKZ1500&Index=2Hope this helps. oh apparently its easy just to go straight to lipo, just need to pop something out of the little black box in the cub and change the battery connectors. May want to check this first

Thanks. The battery at cheapbatterypacks.com is a 7-cell. Should be OK with the stock charger, then, right?
Thanks again!

/\ /\ /\ yea the 7 cell they do will be fine with the stock charger, but for the money you may as well go for an 8 cell and a parkzone charger, it makes so much difference and for little money, especially for getting more hight and faster fly-bys

if you use the parkzone charger make sure your batteries are warm when the light goes off, if not disconnect the battery for about 10 seconds and reconnect it and let it charge a bit more. when the battery starts to get warm its getting near its capacity.
