Not problem pal. The stock SC can handle any 3s lipo provided it can lift it. A 1200-1500 has been the best I've tried so far. Here are some numbers for you's.
1. 1200mah enerland lipo=110 grams 2. 1500mah enerland lipo=128 grams 3. 1000mah stock sc 7 cell=149 grams 4. 1000mah stock sc 8 cell=170 grams
These numbers can help you's with finding good batteries that will not affect cg too much. Obtaining cg on this plane is very easy and you can use anything you want to make up weight forward or aft. Make sure to reinforce the wing before balancing it. It helps to use 3m extreme tape on leading edge and under whole width of wing. The extra power and speed will fold up your wing if you go without struts of have a broken one. The power difference is night and day. Those close calls are not so hard to pull out of once you've gone lipo.

Hello Mrmugen, I had sad experience today after trying to go lipos by removing the jumper as you described. I used a 3 s 1200mah fully loaded battery. While I was taking of the engine stopped after 3 secs. I had a rough landing and broke prop and cowl. I had spare parts with me on the field so was abble to fix it immediately and began to investigate what was going wrong. Check list : Tx batteries : new Motor batteries : fully charged Because of the lipo's size i was obliged to put them on top of the receiver/esc combo. Was that the battery too close to the antenna and combo ? I removed the battery from the fuselage (still connected) : the problem remained. Range Tx ? I made A 30 meters test away from the plane : same story : 2 secs full throttle then wild cutoff. Too much voltage for the combo ? I Tried with a classic 9v Nimh battery : same story. So in the end I replaced the jumper back in its initial place : end of the problem. I had 4 beautiful flights with nimh and lipo, I even had my first touch and gos ;D. So what's theproblme with this jumper ?

I am not sure what could be causing that. I never experienced anything like it. Are you sure the batteries are fully charged? Did you check them on a volt meter? I wonder if there is something wrong with your rx/esc. I will do some research and let you know if I come up with anything.

Bad call. It s onl 10C andhis means i can dump ten times it's cell current (amps). This pack is 1200mah (1.2 amps)x10=12 amp. The stock SC motor with 8 cell draws almost 10 amps. Stock motor with 3s lipo draws 15.5amps. The battery would get damaged running the cub stock.

When Running Lipo's in your SC is it safe to still use the X-Port accessories such as Aerial Drop Module and Sonic Combat Module

Thanks Kevin for posting the new pictures. I cut the battery box a little to much, so I decided to run the 2150 enerlands instead of the 1200's. All I can say is WOW, what a difference over the 7 cell. I put velcro at both ends of the battery and a piece of my spitfire wing (thats another story) to wedge it in a little tighter. The sc flies great and will maintain a high altitude at half throttle. Drue

How many C is good? I see batteries listed at 12c and 15c. What works well for the cub?

Well the C is the cell rating. It means if a battery is 1500mah lets say and the C rating is 20C. 1500mah is the same as saying 1.5amp. So then take the 1.5 and multiply it by 20 and you get 30A.....right.....The stock motor draws (if I remember correctly) around 12 amp. So it is well within the batteries capability. Now if that same 1500 was 12C then take the 1.5amp and multiply it by 12 and get 18amp. This is a lil close to the motor draw for me but is possible.

WARNING! Once you go lipo you'll never go back! I'm a newbie. Please tell me the advantages.

The advantages are simple. You get about 3x's the power, 2x's the run time, 1/2 the weight of a nimh pack, and no voltage drop until you hit the low voltage cutoff (LVC). Hope this helps.

Tried a lipo in my SC today. I removed the jumper and opened up the battery box. I used a 2200mah 11.1v PZ battery and also an 1800mah one. All I have to say is OH MY GOSH WHY DIDN'T I DO THIS EARLIER! Huge difference. Anyone thinking of doing this go for it. This is with the stock motor too. Climbed staight up, endless loops and even eeked out and outside one.
