Just a warning-I got one of these combos. ESC is NOT programmable in ANY way, unlike some Suppos. Mine also would NOT run on 2S, and 'choked off' 3S compared to a better ESC. The Suppo factory did respond to an inquiry, said they had some bad units, suggested return it. Not an option for me. Make sure you check it out throughly before using.
Motor was fine. It will NOT use the stock prop, that'll burn it up. The web site has prop info.

I just bought this Suppo combo. I'm wondering what prop to get. I just read that a 8x4 GWS HD is perfect for this motor. I look online and only see 8x4 DD props readily available. Is this the same prop? Is there another prop I can use that will give me similar specs that is easier to find?

See reply in the [Props] thread. For more info on these motors see here. www.lightflightrc.com/manuals/Suppo/2208-14.pdfThe 8x4 is appropriate for 3S. If you are still using 7-cell you can bump up to GWS 9x5 HD. For new fliers this contradictory statement is important: For a PROPERLY propped plane if you increase voltage you need to REDUCE prop size. If you DROP voltage you can INCREASE prop size. The increased RPM with increased voltage increases the load on the motor. It's like pulling a trailer with a car at 60mph then trying to do it at 90mph-big extra load on the motor. This is why propping down to GWS 10x6 HD when going to 3S is recommended. OH, yeah, you'll move out if you don't.....for awhile. Then something is likely to burn up. How does this get figured out? Generally you can get motor data from the manufacturer. From RTF systems you are mostly on your own. Once you start messing with power systems an extremely useful tool is a wattmeter. If you don't have one of those you can try a prop (preferable too small), fly it full throttle for 1 minute and test the temp. Cool is good, warm is OK, too hot to touch indicates too much prop. If it is cool or warm you can prop up and try again. This test doesn't help a lot if it's really cold outside. flydiver

I ordered this combo two days ago and it has just arrived. Long term how does it work out?
I am waiting for my new radio to finish everything up.
No instructions were included. Any particular order I need to connect the motor wires to the Speed control? I've never worked with brushless systems.

What I do is, connect the three wires so they are not crossed over. If your lucky and the motors rotates anti clock all is good. If not, then swap any two wires over and it will turn in the correct direction.

Being an electrician thats what I was thinking of doing if any trouble shooting was needed.
Thanks for confirming this for me. Even though this is a 15 dollar system I wouldn't want to let the smoke out before I tried to fly it.
