Hey Chris

yeah appears i am hooked on FPV

of course I thought of that years ago and said surely one could come out with a way
while you fly to appear that you were inside the plane....

key cam video and such made it look that way but after the flights were done

but now with actual tech so you can set in the craft and never leave your chair
that is what i had always hoped for ....

I love these little KingKong/LDARC ET Quads...brushless motors, fly great and small enough
to fly around the yard or any field and can take a hit without breaking or crashing
One would have to really hit extremely hard to do damage....

could be flown inside If one was in a gym or something, to fast and heavy for the house
although i have flown a tad inside...lol

but that is what the real little whoops are for....to have fun inside on bad weather days

Yeah, I thought about the bush-mule ...but never pulled the trigger on it
read some bad experiences but also some good ones....just a little to expensive in my book
for what it was.

I have so many planes ...I do not get to fly them often, so spending money on new ones
is like throwing it away....

and with the looming threat of regulations and even losing the freedom to fly them
these little quads seemed to be the answer . I can fly them in my own yard if need be
and not care what anyone says . I own the airspace above my property according to the
Supreme Court .....up so high anyway and so deep in the ground....so unless they change that case
and that ruling...I will fly as much as I want...( well that's my take on it anyway ... )

well it is Tuesday the 11th....

it has been raining off and on for days...near 6 inches of Rain so far

today it has stopped ...but calling for rain for the next 7-10 days

Plus there is a Hurricane bearing down on the East Coast
not sure how that will impact us here . Sure we will get more rain
and some high winds as it comes across the land

the Coastal States appear to be going to get hit hard

needless to say no flying has been done...or mowing for that matter...


I have had a issue with one quad as it appears it goes to failsafe...acts like it goes out of range

range has been getting less and less every time I fly it...you saw the video of how it goes

so I bought some new antenna's but also a new Receiver....going to try them first
as they are very cheap....will see what happens whenever I get to try it again

Hello there Ed ,i would batten down the hatches if i was you, its a bit late for hurricanes isnt it ,or am i wrong ,i hope you manage to escape it. not done any flying for ages now ,what with working full time ,and the windy or wet weather, but at least i am generating funds. And of course its getting dark so much earlier, i might have to get another little quad myself. chris

Hey Chris , well it has not been that bad so far

not suppose to get any remnants of Florence until Sunday night into Monday morning

just going to be a Tropical depression by the time it reaches here Thank goodness

Finally got to mow, man the grass grows so fast .....

but a tad to windy to fly...been having some off and on rain showers as well
just enough to make everything wet....lol

glad you are getting some work time in...must feel better knowing you can plus the funds have to help a lot.

still have many videos, need to get them uploaded...have not done anything with them
just been lazy....

Hello Ed ,i have just seen part one of a three part program based on an rc recreation of "The Battle of Britain". The set up of this is brilliant, the pilots both German and British ,were of varying skill levels from fairly inexperienced ,right up to aerobatic champions. I loved it Dynam Hurricanes and Spitfires all over the shop , the Germans  were running Fms  Stukas ,and Dynam ME110 s  and me109s .All the planes had an infrared targeting system  linked to smoke canisters,and the transmitters had machine gun sound systems attached to them. Of course they had to make it easy for take offs and landings on grass, so they rolled out the astro turf, i mean i give myself a hard time if i end up with a nose over ,but to me this sends out the message that even good pilots have trouble on grass with a warbird.Anyway this first episode was representing an attack on British  shipping by Stuka dive bombers ,i think the relative scale of the ships was out and one of the Stukas had a pan and tilt fpv cam filming from the cockpit,the actual attack in 1940 ended with the ships at the bottom.However this attack ended with three Stukas in the drink ,and the ships undamaged  . the second part of the program was a mass scramble to intercept incoming 109s ,blimey there were pilots giving full power and ground looping, planes taking off and colliding with other Hurricanes and all sorts . But the star was a female aerobatic champion , she zapped four 109s in seconds , if the Hurricane was this good in ww2 ,the Spit would have stayed on the drawing board .The decision to use low time pilots with experts was dead on the money ,as most pilots on both sides where hurriedly trained and barely able to control the machines they were fitted in to ,i hope the program comes over your way at some time ,you would love it. chris

Cheers ED , this vid had slipped  under my radar . its a scary beast will those cannon ,and it has the multiple exhaust stacks ala Dynam mk1.I wonder what the story is with the second one at the end ,wonder if it was a naval/carrier version ,it had very small underwing roundels. the "Hurri" was used for everything ,even with tank buster gear ,up until the tempest and typhoons came along , used everywhere from  Britain and every theatre of war ,from deserts and jungles  and the frozen wastes of Russia . i must say the pilot looks a bit laid back resting against his cannon . This vid made my day

got to make my mowed paths a little wider today in a few spots

also have slowly been sealing my driveway
as it is cracking and stuff...

finished it today finally, as the weather has been so odd and rainy

got a couple pretty days, so jumped in and finished it up
plus cutting the tall grass to make paths wider

been busy today

I am hoping to get some flying in tomorrow
suppose to be another warm and clear day...

then they are calling for rain this weekend and most of next week

Hey Chris ,

Got to fly the quads a few days back after mowing , But

after mowing a few days ago it has rained and rained and rained

it flooded around town and the ground is so wet everything is a mud hole

walk across the grass and you sink a few inches

it finally cleared up yesterday ( Saturday 29th ) a little Sun....and grass was so tall from rain

looked like I never mowed on the 20th . So had to mow it again

it is now Sunday, finally some more Sunshine and warmer
and of course when it warms up and sun shines the winds blow

so here I set....lol

Hope perhaps your weather is better and the winds calmer
and you get some air time.

hello Chris ,

Hope you are staying busy.....

have not flown any, but decided to do a little work on these little quads

started out with a little BetaFPV 85 mm one ...as the thing would show battery
life to low and after you started flying it would say land now

they said the battery pigtail wears out real fast, so Hey I bought a few and thought I would
just solder it on...well as i heated the solder to pull off the wire , solder ran everywhere
and these wires are tiny, should not have that much solder I would think ?

Anyway after soldering on a new pigtail, guess I did not get the solder off the board
as well as i thought and she smoked...bad...little spark...No quad

I was angry.. .so stupid me then decides hey since I was having range trouble with that one
ET-115 quad I would install a new Receiver. ..so i did...( those wires are so tiny and hard to see )
even with magnifying glasses on...but needless to say...now all it will do is Beep and beep and beep
and the Receiver just flashes and will not bind...so am clueless as to why that is...

that is where I am two quads down....and I am not ever trying to repair another one...LOL

Hello Ed ,sorry to hear about the quads ,i think when they are made they probably get soldered by machine,pesky little things for sure ,you were having so much fun out of them. i have not flown anything in weeks ,when i get home from work its dark, and at the weekend the footballers have possession of the field ,however i have just seen a vid of a night radian ,it has 72 light patterns that can be accessed from a switch on the tranny ,this is a collaboration with the guys at flight test , its a bit pricey at £170  but the airframe has been beefed up at at the tail end ,and it now has a clear canopy.And it will run on 2200 3s battys ,not seen much of the big radian 102 inch job ,i think it laid an egg. So not much chance to report anything ,i have been stuck on a tube cutting machine in the yard for the last couple of weeks ,so lots of noise and bits of flying swarf,oh well i was determined to get back to work  ,sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for  , i hope you are well and all the best good buddy .chris

I saw that Radian as well...but with these new regulations and a new Law just passed
I am still clueless what one can or can not do

basically all they really did was give the FAA a bank check to write any Regulation or Law
without Congressional Approval or input by anyone,.....truly a shame

But will see what they do...will have to take some sort of test whenever they make one

the Part 107 test has Nothing to do with this Hobby or drones, it related to manned aircraft
from NOTAM's to the weather and Thunderstorms etc etc...chart Maps and all that waste of effort
to fly a foam plane or a quadcopter that has Zero to do with any of that stuff....

and I figure this test will be no different...but it requires you have it and have a Certificate
that shows you passed it and be able to hand it to a Police Officer if they ask for it....

like a Police officer will know what it means anyway....those around here have no idea about
any of this stuff...I have been trying to educate my Police Officer Neighbors about the regulations'and Laws
the past few years and now this...Lol

well I kept tinkering with this one older ET-115 and finally got it to bind
and flew it and that receiver did the trick it seems, I now can fly all around my field again
and no Fail-Safe moments ...so far so good

and I got to fly Saturday late evening right before dark
had a good time...love these little quads

have a couple videos to put up ...

so gad you got to work, but yeah horrible cause you get no time to fly and relax...lol

hang in there my Friend, it will get better and a few months of short time will ( as fast as time has flown by )
be gone and Summer will be here again...in a blink of an eye .

The regulations seem to have progressed at a fast pace over your side of the pond ,i have not heard much here at all ,of course we may be dropped on  at any time. Without being in a registered club environment ,we are going to be outcast as usual . I think my bmfa insurance may well be refused in the future ,to anyone not in a club as i had a note from them the other day stating that the insurance will go up this year ,to cover accidents with rc planes hitting expensive cars in the carpark, so reading between the lines the grandees at the flying clubs will be screaming blue murder  that it is the county members like myself ,who are flying on playing fields and causing havoc. I think the police have more pressing things to deal with. I think its a wait and see situation. When i get time i have yet another "tiggy" vid to put up ,with no naughty words and even a greaser of a landing

well issue around here is there is little representation. All Politicians see is money

they do not care about facts or rights , money talks and when Big Companies send in
lobbyists with big Money, Politicians drool to get some of it

thus hobbyists, sportsman, citizens etc always lose

only thing to do is let those Politicians know their ignorance on the subject
will cost them on election day...but again we can not hardly get a handful of people
to agree on anything...so that is why so any useless Politicians stay in office as long as they do
people simply vote a party instead of a person .

and normally what happens here eventually gets over there in some manner
but I think many laws over there seem to not be as crazy as some here, and then on another subject
they may be worse there than here....craziness....
