Oh well perhaps we will get a calm autumn ,although the late evening flights are on the way out. i still haven't purchased any planes for about two years, like you said i also have quite a collection ,although attrition has taken its toll of a couple of them. i am starting to think in terms of night flyers, flybeam ,night walrus or i did hear a rumour of a night radian glider coming out soon . Have you still got your flybeam , i think they still make them i might have to get another one ,cant let the dark stop fun. chris

Hey Chris , Yeah, I still have my flybeam fixed the landing gear and made it rigid , it was always wanting to come off used some wood and large screws and fixed it, it is strong now But again these winds have been going into the night and the weather has even made evening flights hard to do I love this flybeam, read so many complain about it...mine has always flown great out of the box. Only issue was the weak LG...but I fixed that issue pretty easy great flyer and looks great in the air weather has changed...from humid to very cool...in fact right now at almost 8 PM here it is kind of cold...winds are howling as always and from the North east a very cold wind would be perfect if the winds would ease up...But they say after the weekend it is suppose to get hot and humid again...crazy weather this year for sure I feel like a weather man...that is all I get to report

Hello Ed ,as you know we do this rc flying lark to release stress for one thing ,but mostly cos its fun.Well working on that principle ,yesterday i was flying the "Hurricane" and having a great time ,about 150-200 ft up ,when a light aircraft a Jodel Robin i think came straight past at 150 or less ft ,at one point the hurricane was above it !.I put the "Hurri" in to a dive in a hurry ,she was low on battery so decided to land anyway ,got her about 10ft off the deck just about to flare for the perfect landing ,when my spectrum dx6e turned off,one of the batteries had somehow shifted in the batty holder and lost connection. You know what i am like ,there is no way i can put the video up

O No
had to be heart breaking
and a point I have tried to make with others
we fly reasonably safe and the manned aircraft seem to not care or follow the rules and altitude limits
and us hobbyists are to blame if anything happens
I told the FAA they needed to police their own and the manned aircraft Industry , before trying to police us hobbyists.....
hate to hear that.

The landing of the Hurricane was not too bad, one pulled out retract and right aileron broken off.Anyway i put the Hurricane up this morning about the same time as yesterday, and the same light aircraft came over again ,very distinctive square cropped wingtips, mind you he was higher up this time . I had three take off and landings ,none of the landings were good , i am thinking that i am coming in too slow ,with not enough airflow over the elevator. mind you with the camo paint job its difficult sometimes with orientation ,although the underneath of the wings are lighter in colour ,they still look black from a distance, i might have to give it a much lighter duck egg blue. Of course i meant to film the plane but didn`t have the damm s/d card in the cam . Anyway just a little ditty "Mary had a little skirt with slits right up the side, and everywhere that Mary went the boys could see her thighs Mary had another skirt with a slit right up the front ,and everywhere that Mary went the boys could see her ,ahem she didn't wear that one very often" ,sorry for lowering the tone

well i got to finally fly my quad some so much time between flying sometimes it is like starting over had some issues with my quad today, appeared it keep going into failsafe almost like I was losing signal will have to do some checking and researching was asking for help on a You tube video if anyone knew what it could be here is a couple videos I posted today one is having fun and the other shows the issues www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhiJ2N_fZuYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=x50nUwddm7Ealso today on facebook the RC saylors were promoting having their picture and an article in Model magazine at the AMA head Qtrs in Muncie Indiana so I decided to let them in on the garbage the AMA was promoting and trouble they were helping cause in our hobby along with the FAA and for the last few videos the Saylors have been promoting the AMA stuff so i let them know and they blocked it and said they did not want no Politics or opinions on their site.. I told them they were the ones promoting the AMA politics and giving opinions on every video they made.....so they blocked me...LOL little idiots are clueless as to what they are promoting and doing and worse using that platform to promote their livelihood and stand to lose it IF the AMA get their way..... guess they may learn the hardway

i liked the first vid ,you are getting good with it ,it makes it a lot more interesting when you are banking around the trees and obstacles, not the sort of thing you can do with an rc plane, although having said that the yak fpv would work. i cant give any advice on the "problem" vid , drones are complicated little monsters at times. and please tell me that isn't a selfie at the start of the vid

Good thing the Rebellion did not depend on my flying abilities.... Hey those Buzzards are my Buddies.... Hope one day to get them on film...they either fly to low or fly to high when i have a cam on my planes speaking of planes I had one buzz the tree tops at the field today was an old looking plane , sort of reminded me of a DC-3 except it was smaller...C- 47 maybe ? not sure but that type body design and had rounded windows going down the side and engine on each wing it was silver and it was LOW ......

Hello there ,as you say flying is flying .I am still having fun trying to land the hurricane ,on half power most of the time with that great potato masher of a three blade on the front. Most of my 3s battys are getting unreliable ,need replacing before i make any plane purchases .i am back at work full time now ,just in the yard and i am in contact with the driving authority ,to get the use of my car licence ,i dont think i could handle driving trucks around London anymore ,so i will let the hgv licence go. i have a vision in my head of being able to drive to the south coast ,where there is a cracking model shop at Worthing. I can usually talk the wife into it as the town is very good for shopping ,even got a yankee candle shop ,which goes a long way, also it has a very nice cafe with paintings around the walls of movie and film stars . and of course the model shop on the way out, i have come away with three second hand planes from here over the years. Glad to hear you are having such fun with the quads, anything that puts a smile on your face is good . All the best chris

Hello there ED , i saw the quad vid very nice, are you still using the fpv as well . When i have generated some cashflow i was thinking of perhaps getting an fpv quad again ,although i would prefer one that will take normal 2200 3s battys.I have just heard that there is a new film out called "Hurricane" ,all about the Polish squadron during the" Battle of Britain," this has all the elements for me.When you think that the original " Battle of Britain " film came out in 1969,and that had the polish pilots from Northolt ,its a shame it has taken so long for their story to be properly told. Did i mention i have a soft spot for the hurricane. chris

Hey Chris got to fly some more today before it started storming more vids coming when I can get them together finding it is easier to fly these quads FPV then load up planes and have to through all the stuff to fly them... makes no difference what time of day or which way the winds blow I can fly them almost anytime where as with planes one has to be so , so certain winds direction, certain time of day etc etc Plus I love flying these things and using FPV is so much Fun and yes I know how much you love the Hurricane

You got me thinking again now, i looked at my t111 quad fpv .There was just enough power in the batty to get it off the ground ,and send picture to the monitor ,its infuriating that i cant charge the damm battys.I cant find a charger to replace the original one, and the battys are probably beyond charging now, i sank about £90 into it at the time reduced from £125 in the sale, not too much money but enough to wind me up .After the charger packed up i did look at an xkx3oo on the rc saylors site ,not seen any of these in UK,not a racing drone it has brushed motors ,but will give 15mins flight time with good fpv duration and range.I agree the rc saylors are sometimes a bit missguided but they are showing the fun of flying and not taking things to seriously, they seem to be doing more planes ,they tested the avios bush mule mk2 the other day ,that is a bit pricey.A friend had the first version with the u/c in the wings ,when it was flying it was a good slow flyer ,but the esc `s where always blowing and he replaced motors as well ,still it looked nice . I think we need more smileys "Ones artistic expression is stifled somewhat", a job for super SCC
