Hello there ED . I have been flying mostly in the evening at just before sunset, bit cooler and no wind. i have really taken to the glider ,there is something magical about it floating silently across the sunset ,with the red glinting off the underside of the wing. There is no point filming it anymore ,because once you have seen it thats it. I cannot believe how hot it is, all around the world it seems . I wonder what this is doing to food crops ,with the lack of rainfall and everything. We shall probably see food prices shoot up for a while. Well it had to happen ,the wot4 has been with me for ages being one of the most reliable aerobats ever. I was flying ok ,inside loops outside loops ,rolls one after the other ,then coming out of an outside loop near the ground ,i disorientated and put it in . i realized as soon as it turned in, didn't even "Blaspheme" . The wing which is hollow is unrepairable ,the rear fuselage is in several pieces.Suddenly the rate of attrition has stepped up a gear ,what with the beaver. Still there is always another way of looking at things, at least i have a receiver and servos and the power 15 as spares. On that note do you know how Eflite categories their motors ,i had a power10 on a visionaire which was very powerful , then i had a power 15 on the wotty which didn't seem to have half the punch. I could of course put the vid up as i was on my best behavior

Wow Gremlins must be angry about the heat to.... hate to hear that
I like watching all video's good or bad.....Lol
I am not sure about the motors most are rated by the KV I think that is how they classify them all
these blasted winds makes me angry
just when you think it is getting better they get worse...
no flying here today either

I wish they had an App to stop the winds from blowing so much....well never mind I would not know how to use it either....

Well i did manage to get out flying in the heat ,the yak was excelling itself with the grass so low ,it was taking off from the ground and landing nicely as well .I send it up to search for lift under the clouds ,quite successful well you know the yak is light and very precise ,perfect for signalling where the lift is .So after 3 battys it was time to use the big guns ,so up went the sonic 185 . i did eventually get the 185 into some lift ,but it was tricky at times .The heavier bird tends to power through the thermals if you are not careful ,fun though and it does extend the flight times. its just too hot to fly anything that needs concentration , i just want to get the flying in. and its started raining yippee

I got my little quads flying in my yard last yesterday...
got a little footage I need to go over and edit will post later
Glad to hear you are getting some rain.....we get it off and on not has humid today as it has been ...which is good
winds were blowing and it clouded up looked like rain
But clouds broke up and the sun is out again...winds seem to be easing as the day goes along...hopefully it will be none later would like to fly my quads some more
seems they have all my attention, and have not tried to fly my planes at all
everything has to be so -so to do it...easier to step out in the yard and set down and fly these quads about...Maybe i am hooked on FPV now...Lol

Anything that flys ,takes your mind off things and leaves you with a smile / frown is money well spent

flew around in my yard again today
this time flew the ET 115 as well..
normally I have only been flying it at the unique as it flies pretty fast
So today i tried to use throttle management and fly slow and stay lower
I have power lines that run across my place, so signal breaks up some when near them and try and keep from hitting those lines ( managed to tag one anyway )
love these little quads....still have much more learning to do...
But i am slowly getting there...lol
( need to get some video's edited and posted ) hopefully soon

Thank you Ed ,its good to be able to get advise from someone who is living through it .You are of course right ,the flying is a life style for us it transcends just being a "Hobby".I was flying the glider at sunset last night ,and a dog walker lady came up and chatted about the plane ,saying it was magical seeing the glider just cruising silently by, then she said her father who had sadly passed away ,had a part finished glider that has been in the loft ,and the family would love to see it finished and flying ,perhaps filmed as well. i told her that the fellow i fly with occasionally would be better suited to carry out the request ,as he makes balsa planes himself ,but then she said the plane is in devon about 250 miles away doh .I cannot get my wife within a mile of the flying field ,but these dog walker ladies seem to feel safe with me ,i reckon if i was to wear a pilot uniform i would be well away ,or perhaps because i have my hands full with the transmitter and concentrating on the plane they think i cant get up to much . Anyway i might have lost a bit of my former position in life ,but the sense of humour will carry me through the future .My father once told me "Son i never have to worry about you ,every village has its idiot" , he was brilliant my dad. Anyway all the best Chris

Well we finally got a day with out rain and wind.... it is so wet, but Sunny today sure helped a ton, light breeze Got to mow the grass, my normal routine it seems could have flown I guess, but was so tired after mowing I just could not do it funny how things work out, waited so long for clear day and no wind and when I got it, just worn out....lol
