Thanks, it could have had a better ending The more I watch it, the more I realise how daft it was to fly in those conditions. I'm glad I got the aircraft on the ground in one piece - but I'm also proud of being a novice and keeping control in weather like that.

Well, what a fantastic evening for flying. Dead still and completely clear skies. I've flown 8 batteries all told today on a field within walking distance of home. Thank the lord for car batteries and 12v chargers! I got a bit over confident after learning how to spot a landing (and stick it on its wheels) a lot better.. You may have seen my recent video.. and the field of choice today has a small concrete area and the rest is rough grass and stony ground. I've not flown there before, although its near home and has lovely terrain to fly in, because of the trickiness of the landing.
3 times I misjudged and nosed over on the rough grass... Thankfully not the nasty stony area so no damage at all. The rest I did land on the concrete, and I was so pleased with how natural I'm finding it now. Landings still raise the heart rate, but its not unnatural anymore.
Love scale flying, in fact a friend invited me to watch him and his 3D model a week or so ago and I thought how unattractive the flying was. Skillful, very. Nice, no.

I had one day so far this year with no wind....on that day I crashed and damaged 2 planes and got another one stuck in a tree.
I flew my Heli one day...but other than that. no flights
1 plane repaired, 1 waiting and the one in the tree finally blew down and now hangs on my ceiling retired.
So far not a good year for flying. ( wind is horrible even late evenings which is strange )

Why was it retired? Too much work to get it back in shape? That's a shame, a real shame.
Weather has been unusual here too, being coastal its usually breezy or still with no in between.. But the wind just keeps coming and going. I've flown a few times, but its only been really wind free twice.
I'm actually considering expanding my hanger sometime soon.. The cub has given me the confidence to fly some more channels, but I think I'll wait a while and just enjoy the cub for the summer.

The one I have retired is one of my little Champs. It can still fly, but it is banged up pretty good and I own 2 more so, I simply hung it up , and will fly the other 2 I have many planes, WAY to many planes. Last count 22 planes and 2 Heli's . WAY to many planes and way to many Lipo batteries to go with them..... My X-2 Heli will fly in some stiff winds, that is what i have been using, winds to hard for my planes. Product Video www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIXEGVCzCZIThis video is of the older model X350...the Newer X 2 one out now ( the one I have is even better ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7pQx9WQnGYwww.youtube.com/watch?v=e6o2eZ0jMB0www.modelairplanenews.com/members/2013/12/28/hobby-people-x2/The Extreme 350 Heli was the first version, it did well but had issues the NOW X 2 is that improvement and it does Fly very well and very fast and in strong winds . It has brushed Motors and does Great. It has upgrade available for Brushless Motors, Power aileron assist and so on... But I can tell you the brushed motors will fly very fast and in allot of wind. Just thought i would share that.
