Meanwhile, back on topic... :-)
I added 108 grams to my SC by switching to a 2200 mah battery.
Using a quick and dirty setup to check the CG, the larger battery didn't affect the CG at all because I mounted it vertically. The CG is 2.25" back from the leading edge, and the tail planes are angled very slightly down.

Great news! It's so much better when there's no tree climbing involved. It seems as though there's always a few unforseen glitches in the beginning and you solve them systematically.
Then you can start to enjoy mostly trouble free flight and work on pushing the envelope of your skills. That's what's fun about all of this stuff.
I'm happy to see that minus the battery drop and prop mishap, you kept a cool head and did exactly what needed to be done to both have a flight that the crew could walk away from, and the mechanics team came up with the solution to prevent the loss of payload in the future.
