Yes, what he just said.....If my posts were not clear enough. I can ramble and provided excessive info sometimes.

Yes, what he just said.....If my posts were not clear enough. I can ramble and provide excessive info sometimes. No fly, I thought your explanation was very concise, that's why I got concerned when I read something about "getting a new radio"! I just wanted to restate what you said and make sure our new friend didn't spend anymore money thinking that his new RX was "mode dependent"! I sometimes wish the owner's manual would stay away from the whole "mode" subject completely, it just adds confusion that a newbie definitely doesn't need. And I do think the OP was correct, there is even a picture in the manual that says Mode 2 but is labeled wrong, just a very confusing subject in general. I guess they think it is needed for the international buyers, but to me it should maybe be in a separate handout or something, as most of the world flys in mode 2.

Yep, that's pretty much it.. It never crossed my mind to just plug it into another port.. so when I buy my new radio that is what I'll do, but since my current radio has a mode 4 I'm just going with that and all is good.. thanks for the advice and happy flying..

I guess that works since you don't have a 'roll/aileron' on the L-stick anyway.
There have been a few people back in the 27MHz days that got oddball Cubs with non-USA TX for some peculiar reason. They looked wrong and they were in the wrong modes. Generally they were brand new pilots and didn't know about this or any other forum. When they started to do the normal.....CRASH!...ARGH!....What do I do now?......and found this forum it made everyone a bit crazy trying to figure out what they had. I haven't seen that particular problem in a long time.
