Suggestions for the new SCC board

In a move which took most members by surprise, the SCC board has recently been presented in a new (yellow)format.

There have been several changes about which members may wish to express an opinion.

In the hope that our long-suffering mod is taking note, and to avoid hijacking other threads for this purpose, I propose that we use this thread to express any constructive suggestions, observations or pleas about the new board.

To start the ball rolling, here are some of mine and other people's thoughts:

1) Please restore the 'New Topics' (OK, or 'New Threads') link to the TOP of EVERY page. It was so convenient. Now, it is only accessible from the foot of the Home page, which is extremely annoying having to zip backwards and forwards when trying to come up to date.

2) Please restore the 'Location' under members' avatars. It adds to the interest, besides coming in useful sometimes.

3) Please can we have a Super Cub picture back in the masthead?

Good idea Renard.

A small observation. The text in the posts window is also somewhat smaller than it used to be. This is not too much of a problem for me as I see very well up close. However, there may be those among us that do not have that kind of vision.

Is it a laborious task to make the text a little larger or bolder as in the titles of the threads?

Ooooh, new topics. Definitely! Also, perhaps a better font, bold, as the main font used?
Got to admit, it was a bit of a shock on the new look site, but I also have to admit, it's a lot prettier than it was ( Posting this whilst wearing sunglasses!)
Lovely, modern look, but please, bring back new topics!

And, as renard says, location! Most members live away from the UK, but as stated before, it's nice to know if they live down the street from you!

I agree. It's distracting and seems to serve no purpose.

We also seem to have lost the clock which was on the banner. Not too much of a problem as I always have time and date on the lower right of my screen anyway, it was just an observation.

These pages are REALLY yellow. It is saving me a fortune in electricity, just go onto the Super Cub Club page and it lights up the room/house/road/garden!

Glad you like it. What do you think about the size of the text now, too big too small.?

I'm still looking for a way of having location in the user avatar. For the moment you guys will have to click on the user name.

Work in progress.

Suggestions welcome and I will try and get it sorted.

I have checked the size/view of text etc on my normal PC and my laptop.
The text may be a tad too large, look at the toolbar below the banner and it does not fit into the space. Very easy to see though!
The text in the quick reply box is a little too small IMHO.

Agree with you on the reply text. I will look into it now.
I will make the text on the forum slightly smaller. I'm viewing on a ipad at the moment and I'm not getting that problem with the tool bar. Strange things these computers.
I will get it sorted hopefully.
