Grumble, grumble!
At the top of the old board was a button 'New Topics'.
It provided an instant summary and link to all new posts since I last visited, which was immensely helpful and time-saving.
I can't see anything similar now, except 'New Posts' at the bottom of the front page, which produces a whole wodge of entire posts instead of just a link. It's not so simple to negotiate.
Or have I missed something?
Grumble, grumble . .
(And please may we have a Super Cub picture back on the masthead?)

If you go to google and search "Super Cub Club" a link to "new topics" will come up. Click it and bookmark it.

Down on the bottom of the [Home] Page (hit your end key on the keyboard to jump to the page bottom) is a section that says [Forum Information & Statistics] Clicking on [Recent Threads] gets you the same result as spindeepster's suggestion above. It simply depends whether you want hit the Home page first or simply see the recent threads.

You are correct, fly. Thank you for that. 'Recent threads' does indeed produce a result similar to the previous 'New Topics'. Please forgive the previous grumble from an old man for whom 'change' means confusion and mild panic tremors . . . (AND I preferred the old smilies! )

Well, Overall it looks more modern. I have to agree with Renard though, I really miss that new topics button. OK, so I am old chap, which means that change does not come so easily to me, however, I will learn these slightly different ways of doing things. Have to agree about a Cub on the masthead, after all this is what the forum is all about, except MARMITE, fish and chips, etc, etc. Other than that, congratulations to the person/people responsible for revamping the pages. Just one thing I have noticed when looking at the new smiley's. What is meant by the very last one? It looks like a masked/hooded face with just the eyes showing.

I think maybe I like [Recent Posts] better. Some threads get long, Marmite comes to mind, and it's faster to skip right to the new postings.

And unless I am mistaken, the Recent Threads and Recent Posts links are now only available from the Home page.
Weren't they previously available at the top of ALL pages? That was much more useful.

Once again I find myself in agreement with Renard, that was user friendly and a doddle for anyone to get to, especially for someone who may be completely new to the site. If it hadn't been for Fly's advice on how to get to the most recent posts, I would never have found my way. Thank you Fly. Recent posts button, tucked down the bottom of the home page I find a little unusual, but then what do I know? i like most of the changes that I have noticed so far, however I feel that losing the obvious buttons at the top is not a forward step. If it isn't broken, don't fix it? Just an observation, not a criticism. Just off to glue the Cub back together then! BTW Lady CH couldn't find how to get to the recent posts either.

BTW Lady CH couldn't find how to get to the recent posts either. Were you trying to teach her? Is that why she had a hard time? I bet it was a "nice" try though. Perhaps the Marmite got in your eyes? I do believe that stuff could cause severe blindness if mishandled properly....perhaps that is why you are against the squeeze bottle? I still miss the "convenience" of the "new topics" button. Which reminds me, I need to add to that Marmite thread again..... Now does "Recent Posts" just mean it has been "edited" i.e. added a reply? Or is "Recent Posts" a way of saying "New Posts"? I would hate to resurrect a large old post...(Marmite comes to mind)...and not see it in the "Recent Posts." Meh My common sense is telling me that it should just show the most recent addition to any old post....

Trying to be helpful, I have started a new thread on the Suggestion Box board.
'Suggestions for the new SCC board' seems an apposite title to lead members towards a place for drawing together any observations about the new format, so the mods can quickly get our feedback.
