Thanks Renard
I was first told the 'keep her flying, keep her flying' technique when I did a gliding course (full-size). Once the glider is set up for landing and is on that final stage of flying parallel with the ground maybe 10 feet up, up elevator is gradually applied as the speed comes off. Works a treat with the SC too.
I am very lucky in that we live on farmland so can make the most of calm summer evenings though I do have to dodge the sheep sometimes when landing!

look at your plane from the side and make sure the wheels are going forward just in front of the wings, not under the wing ( facing back ) Oh man, Thanks kenninny! You just saved me from buying another batch of cowls... I couldn't for life of me out figure why I kept doing the nose-overs with every landing no matter how softly I brought her in. I've got big 3" Dubros on but I guess I put them in backwards when I first stuck 'em on. You da man! radio

Excuse me if I am completely wrong on this as it has been a bit since I did my SC build. If the landing gear is put on in the wrong direction on the SC, then the skirts will not line up correctly with the screw holes for the battery compartment edges or will they? I found that angling the skirts with a cut at the lower edges helps stop the skirts from nicking into the tires upon landing. I went to large 3" tires on my stock RTF SC, but I have the 2 1/2" ones on the other one I am putting together. I have not completed it for any test comparisons, but I will see in the future. Unfortunately, I have my floats on now, so it is a bit difficult to check this out presently. I'd ask if the landing gear support in the battery box was perhaps weakened with any mod to the battery box that may have been done? Some people recommend flying without the skirts, but I just happen to like the looks, myself. One other thing is the length of the grass being taken off from. I know the local field I use has grass too high for just about any size wheel to go over easily.
